Okay so i was thinking, you have the vision of the Protheans studying primal humans on Eletania then why is it that when the Reapers came and wiped out all advanced organic life why did they let an obviously intelligent human species live?

Because the humans at the time weren't much more advanced than apes and had never even sniffed the idea of space travel. The Reapers only took races who made it into space and advanced enough. Obviously the humans didn't meet the Reapers criteria to harvest.

The Reapers most likely were targeting species that had achieved space flight and had obviously stumbled across those data beacons and tech that they had planted across the galaxy over millions of years. At this point, Humans were just cavemen, so the Reapers did not target them at all. Makes sense as... well... Cavemen v Reapers doesn't exactly go to well and goes against the Reaper ethic of "only wipe out life that has come across their tech. Heh.

Yeah. At 50,000 years ago, human civilization was pretty much still in the hunter-gatherer stage, and warfare was literally with sticks and stones. Reapers wouldn't have given us a second glance, except perhaps to make a note of us for their next time around.

That said, stupid question related to this: I did a play through where I was able to access the vision and another where I wasn't, saying I needed some kind of key. Is this key the trinket that Sha'ira (the Asari consort) gives you?

I don't remember getting it (or not getting it for that matter) on my second play through when I couldn't access that vision, but in doing a third play through recently, getting it caught my attention, though I haven't made it to Eletania yet to see if that is it. So, confirmation? And, if it isn't it, can someone point out what is the key to that artifact?

The trinket from the Consort is the key to getting the vision from the big silver ball.

Understood. I must have somehow missed getting it in that second play-through, despite completing the consort's quest. There must be a "no thanks" option or something when that comes up, and I mindlessly selected it.

You have to deal with the complaining Elcor in the Embassy after dealing with the Turian general, and before returning to the Consort. Easy to forget to do.

Random aside, but related to Eletania: I only had the chance to try it with Ashley and Liara so far, but you get some good squad banter if you shoot a pyjak while you are there.

Ashley: Personally, I would have just thrown a rock at it.

Liara: This is why you humans are often thought of as hostile.

Heh... I can't wait to go back and try with other squad members. :D

Wrex just says "Nice shot Shepard!" when you blow them the smithereens.

I liked the gloopy ball thing explaining a bit of history. Mind you, I'm a bit miffed the Reapers don't wipe out the infrastructure just in case...

Garrus says something like 'the little guy had it coming' IIRC.

I can't bring myself to shoot 'em. Geth? Pirates? No problem. Space monkeys? I feel bad about it.

So, I take you don't punch the pyjak in the med-clinic area on Tuchanka in ME2, eh?

That's one of my favorite things. :D

Back on topic, does anyone know what, if anything, Kaiden says?

BTW, it's not like I go on a space-monkey slaughtering rampage. It was more a random "what will happen if I ...?" moment, so I pulled out my pistol and shot one.

What vision?

...I've never seen it, how exactly do I activate it?

Edit: If it's the glowing thing in Feros, I'll probably need to do another playthrough to get it. D:

There is a big silver ball in the sw corner of the map on Elentia.    If you have the trinket from the consort you can get a text vision from this.

If you want to read the text the wikia has it.  http://masseffect.wi...m/wiki/Eletania
