Ok, anyone else having this issue?  I have an old install, but I know i have a few modules on there and it has been on my HD since I was using XP to Vistax64 to now W7x64 so I figured I'd just do a new install.

Keeps giving me my cdkey invalid, went over to the old forums just to make sure there wasn't a typo in the book that I used, and both keys are the same, yet I get an invalid cdkey.

I have no idea what could be causing this, maybe send an E-mail to Obsidian tech support?

Your Steam CD keys are invalid? That's a steam issue most definetly and you should contact Steam Support. They are legally obligated to sell you three valid serials. One for NWN, one for MOTB and one for SOZ.

If they don't then they haven't lived up to their obligation derived from the agreement to buy and sell the game.

I'm assuming you bought the game on steam. If so then you have a good chance for steam to take it up with Atari or Obsidian (whichever is responsible, probably Atari).
Plus they may assign you other keys.

Also: Have you done this?

@ BartjeD: It sounds like he has had NWN2 for a while and I think it only came onto Steam recently.

If it is not from Steam then head over to the old forums. The search function still works there. You can look up old posts. The invalid CDKey thing sounds familiar.

If you are using nwn2 Gold you should try the cd key in the book for nwn2 for MotB and vice versa. There was a printing error that switched them.

Nope, they were all bought when at release of each expansion. I sent a message to atari's support hopefully they resolve it. I've already registered the keys at the old website, so they are all valid, and honestly I can not for the life of my figure out why it doesn't work.

Look at the Manual's CD Key VERY CAREFULLY! Some of the letters are hard to tell *(due to the font they used for it) which ones exactly are which. The 0 (Zero) and O (letter Oh) look nearly identical and the Q (Que) isn't much better. Also, I recall the M and N, without careful examination looked a lot alike as well. I think it may also be that L (ell) and 1 (one) might look very similar to each other as well. Off the top of my head, I am not sure about other letter combos, maybe the U (You) and V (Vee) were also hard to tell apart. So you might wish to check that as well.

Also, on the old Bioware site, if you did register your CD Keys way back when, they should be in your profile there and you could just cut and paste them to a text file.

Seem to remember reading somewhere that having an existing nwncdkey.ini may cause problems.

I did this, still states in invalid.  Finally Atari got back to me this evening and gave me a new key for MotB, then I go to install Storm of Zehir, and guess what?  My key is also invalid.

@metatheurgist;

Thank you for the link, that is the problem, though it does not explain why my original cdkey was taken and not deemed invalid as both expansion

Don't know if I'm reading your first post correctly, it seems to indicate that you already have nwn2 files on the drive? The links I posted suggest that you might get that installation error if the installer detects an nwncdkey.ini file. The first time you installed the game that file wouldn't have been on your drive.
