Though I really wish the developers went with the less military concept art for him, he looks so much cooler! *Pimp Cane FTW*

Sovereign wasn't a person. Maybe that's why.

Greatest villian in the game, and you felt sorry for him. He just was trying to save the universe and failed, and became what he fought aginist.
Wouldn't that mean he wasn't a villain in the first place? That he was more of a "failed hero" than a villain?

I think of him more as a rival than a villain. Sovereign is the villain, without a doubt. Saren and Shepard both wanted to save organic life - same goal, but they went about it in completely different ways.
I missed him too.Nina-Serena wrote...
I really missed Saren in ME2~ He's a fantastic villain and far more interesting than the collectors.

I liked the concept art and his final look, but a more military appearance at least works better for Revelation when he didn't use biotics. If I had to guess, he kept the armor because he still fights like a soldier.

Most talk about Saren happens in the Garrus and turian discussion thread, which might be why he doesn't have his own thread by now. I know I talk about him all the time. He's my favorite character.

Oh yes, totally agree and as you said he wasn't a 'proper' villain so using the concept art design would of made him look more... natural evil than unlawful justice.
If that makes sense~ Haha~

It could be because the armor looks less like a traditional villain's outfit too. I hadn't thought of that.
I wish. I don't expect it though. At least he'll be in Evolution.NOSAR wrote...

Shepard didn't leave that much of a corpse either. I think as long as they have some of his DNA, it could be possible.mrsph wrote...

And he was a pretty rotten bastard before Sovereign. Only difference is he became a rotten bastard-puppet afterward. But I still thought he made a pretty awesome villain.

Sovereign was a better villan imo. He was over-confident, but he actually had reason to be unlike so many other villans in fiction. You really felt like he was impossible to beat and you were truly f'ed.
Saren was just a plain amoral douche, nothing mystical or grey about him. Maybe he did join up with the reapers to try to save the galaxy, but if you read revelation, I get the distinct impression he originally only wanted to use Sovereign to wipe out humanity.

I'm sure Shepard had a lot of damage to the head too. When they recovered the body in Redemption, they couldn't even tell by looking if Shepard was a man or a woman. As for memories and personality, there's no real way to know, so whatever BioWare says is "truth."Nina-Serena wrote...
Very interesting thought~ but even with DNA would they be able to recover his memories and personality, considering he was shot through the head?
So would my MainShep's.Either way, if he somehow returned my life would be complete

I say just leave him dead and write bad fanfictions about it.
SCREW YOU, my fanfics about Shepard exploring Saren's new cloned body are SO GOOD. You have no taste!
Guiz, clearly the Reapers have been searching for Saren's DNA in humans (since he slept with all humans everywhere) so they could gather enough to put him back together cell by cell.
(Am I facetious enough yet?)

Even if they cloned Saren, he still would exactly be Saren and thus it wouldn't be the same character that many of us love. I say just leave him dead and write bad fanfictions about it.

Unfortunately you're right, returning Saren as some shy, push over noob would be devastating. lol

I like him as a villian, but that's the point. You're not supposed to be on friendly terms with the guy, he makes renegade shep look like a fluffy kitten.

He didn't want to wipe out humanity, but he definitely wanted revenge against the Alliance. Judging by the last page of Revelation, he wants humanity to learn their place, and unless he considers their place in the grace, that doesn't imply death to all humans. I'm sure death was involved in his plans for the Alliance though. He was even angry at the Council for making turians pay reparations after the war.darknoon5 wrote...

Everything else he did was basically "Renegade." Renegade Shepard can make many similar choices.
I agree with this.Madolin wrote...
