Dear Bioware,

Please remove heat clips from Mass Effect 3 and return to the unlimited ammo system I found so enjoyable in Mass Effect 1, or in the very least, allow the player to chose between the two systems. Thank you.

Yes. This isn't supposed to be Call of Duty.

Nawh, I felt as if the ammo made the combat more smooth, and overall realistic.

unlimited ammo system was unrewarding and never forced the player to experiment with other weapons.

At least with the heat clips made you think more strategically. If you have problems with the heat clips, buy the PC version and use a trainer.

Or they could altar/improve the unlimmited ammo system...nah, let's just copy what popular shooters are doing.

Considering the Big Ben sniper in the trailer is ejecting a heatclip from his rifle, I kinda doubt you'll have much success with your request...

If it's optional I'm ok with it.

Thermal clips made the game more enjoyable for me.

The palm-slap clip ejection for assault rifles is just plain sexy. And, watching a red-hot clip eject from the sniper rifle as Shep pulls the bolt makes bolt-action all the more awesome (and actually make sense, no less). Not to mention that the visceral thrill of the pump-action of shotguns is a well-documented fact.

Or make it so that the final upgrade for all weapons makes them not require thermal clips.

The game would have to be balanced around that, so I'd rather it didn't.

How? Once you got the upgrade you just wouldn't need to pick up thermal clips.

There's a reason this system has been used since shooters were invented. Unmimited ammo was not challenging in any way and I ended up only using assault rifles. Also, decent snipers would be overpowered with unlimited ammo, so they just made them annoying to use.

I like the heatsinks and would hate it if they were removed. Letting you choose between using heatsinks or not would be ok though.

Actually - and hear me out - having both systems would be a great idea. It would add another rpg element to the game, giving players the choice, and both systems could have their own tactical approaches. I know ejecting clips is sexy, but it still seemed like such blatant mimicry on Bioware's part. Instead of following through with what they started in ME1, they copied. That always annoyed me about ME2.

Here's an idea: Let's not. Just because one person likes it doesn't mean everyone does. I like the more shooter elements of ME2. Plus, shooting non stop is kinda dumb from my point of view.

^ agreed. I would rather them just give us unlimited ammo and overheat back.

They could have easily balanced the dual Frictionless Materials combo.

But Mass Effect 2 was all about chainsaws instead of scapels.

Allowing players to choose is the logical decision, since there is a significant amount of people not happy with the ammo system. But since when do people make logical decisions, right?

No, like everyone else has said, just use a trainer or edit the ini to give you unlimited ammo and take away the need to reload

They didn't put all that work into redesigning combat just to throw it away. Sorry. Not going to happen.

They did in the first game.
