Why would anyone think you saying the romances in Bioware games made to feel more of a connection to the characters therein is an attack on Oblivion?

It's not an attack, it's an observation, and one I share. Not so much the romance angle, but I felt no personal connection to Cyrodiil at all. There was zero reason for me to go seek out Martin, besides advancing the plot. In DAO, I felt not connection to the Wardens, but I did care about my companions and people like Fergus and Irving. 

It's not that Oblivion had it wrong, I just think BioWare has it better.

lol I seriously doubt Bioware would go that far. Perhaps changing the skin color, but that's it.

No. As I said, there are several set appearances for your family based on one appearance setting you choose for your PC. They do not change beyond that.

This is, I should add, completely subject to change or even cutting. I'm simply describing how I remember the system working at the moment (and, god forbid, I may even be wrong on how it's set up-- details tend to change on the systems stuff without notice).

i'd actually like to see more built on the rivalry between two companions over the main character. there was a little more done with this in NWN2 and KOTOR 2, but with ME and DAO it can only result in npcs confronting you. i'd like to see a mixture of both, or something a little more complicated than whatever we've seen with any of those games.

They haven't announced all the companions yet. There are at least two mages to be announced, probably one of them will be female.

I agree the only females are Isabella (who seems interesting) and Aveline who seems more manly than Alistair IMO...I hope the female mage (if there is one) is a LI...

At the moment, I have only 2 items on my wishlist:



1. Dialogue with my LI which doesn't seem to basically "end" once we sleep together. I felt in Origins, particularly with Leli, that the relationship basically ended once we slept together . . .and if you do that early, it becomes damn boring through the rest of the game.



2. An attractive female. At the moment, my Hawke is going to be a lonely, lonely man.
