I like Merrils character. I hope they keep the same VA, I know they're changing Isabella's. You know assuming she's a companion.

I've heard the Dalish have been given Welsh accents. So assuming Merril IS a companion, inless her old VA pulls of a damn god Welsh accent, she's probably been replaced.

(I'm looking forward to this, personally. The Dalish never seemed right with American accents where the Dwarves and City Elves did just fine.)

My Hawke will be too busy defending the virtue and honor of his little sister to worry about such trivialities as 'romance'.

Of course, this is assuming Mama Hawke isn't nagging you for grandkids.

Dialogue with my LI which doesn't seem to basically "end" once we sleep together. I felt in Origins, particularly with Leli, that the relationship basically ended once we slept together . . .and if you do that early, it becomes damn boring through the rest of the game.

This!  I wish they'd flesh them out more, otherwise, to me it feels more like the whole point was just to get them in the sack....oh wait...

I don't know if they will get much deeper. During one of the Q/A Gradier thought the relationship were pretty deep in Origins, and didn't think it would get much deeper, even if the game spans 10 years.

If I were, my current location would not be 'living room.'

That, IMO, is a shame.

Yes, I think there was some depth to the "romances", but (again, IMO) that depth ended once you slep together.  There was virtually nothing going on iin terms of interaction between the characters after that point.  To me, that's not romance, that's getting someone in the sack.

If that's all they care to do, fine.  I'll just stop calling it romance then.

Female dwarf, female elf or a female Quarnari. Doubt we get any of them, but here's to hoping.

The sex happened at the very beginning of the Morrigan and Zevran romances. There was a ton of interaction afterward.

Never did Zev.

With Morrigan, I personally found the post sex interaction a bit wanting.

With Leli, the sex comes late, after a lot of interaction.  After that, IMO, nothing except one conversation about "what we do after", IIRC.

Never did the Ali one either.

Also, interaction and romance are not the same, IMO.  Quest related talk is not what I'm going for.

And over a 10 year period, I'd expect more.  A lot more.

But, hey, I already bought the game, so I guess I'll see.

The lead up to tent time did have some depth, but after that I felt that things just plateaued, which ironically, mimics some RL relationships I think

Epic. I just want it to be epic.

And the siblings having their own relationships would be cool too. And inter-party relationships not involving Hawke.

But mostly, just...let it be epic.

The only thing I want is to have more than one opportunity to trigger/initiate a romance, like in DA:O. I didn't like how in ME2, you had to pick a specific line in a specific conversation and if you didn't you could never romance that character. It really limits the RP possibilities, and even with a somewhat pre-defined character I don't think it's necessary. Plus, in ME2 it was particularly bad because Shepard ended up sounding like a cheap hooker half the time and there was nothing you could do about it unless you just decided to not romance anyone. Which isn't a terrible fate, but romance is a fun part of the experience.

I love the way it was handled in DA:O. The romance could be triggered in subtle ways, or the Warden could flirt shamelessly if he/she wanted to and it would still work. I enjoyed having that kind of freedom. Other than that, I don't care what they do with the romances. At least one of them will probably be to my taste.

I know that the flirt icons in this new dialogue system are probably there to help players avoid ninjamances, and I can understand that. But I'm still a bit wary of them.

More lesbian romance options would get the job done. And of course, Isabela as a romance option for both male and female player characters.

My only wish is for the next male LI to be less pretty. Fenris is too pretty for my tastes (hell, Alistair was almost too pretty for me.) I'm thinking... a Qunari in a Lolita dress would be just the right balance ^_^

(Yes, I'm aware of there being no Qunari companion. I merely enjoy my delusions :P)

Assuming she's even in the game, I'm down for some Dalish lovin' with Merrill. Speaking of which, I wouldn't mind playing 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours' with Fenris either, even if he does look like a refugee from the Final Fantasy series. Or Link's long-lost albino brother.

I would like at least some of the romances to actually have consequences for my Hawke, an impact on the story.

DAO did that for me. Imo, the story feels quite differently, whether your Warden is in love with Alistair or not.

It could influence your Warden's decisions at the Landmeet (Loghain as Warden or not, Alistair marrying Anora or not) and also the Dark Ritual (What is more important to your Warden - that her lover has one night with Morrigan or that they both survive? etc.)

I am now just playing my first male Warden, but I could imagine, that the love story with Morrigan also influences the feel of the game.

Romances like that have nothing to do with the "Sims", but, for me, increase the depth of the roleplaying experience, because they can define your PCs character, her/his interaction with his companions, even more.

I'm kinda keen for my sibling to have someone as well, and specifically for the options this would hopefully give me to threaten them with harm should they mistreat my sibling

If Merill's in there and a LI, I hope she's as awesome as people are building her up to be, I never played the Dalish origin myself

How about romances where we call the shots?

Romances in these games is all about doing and saying what they want. Where is my damn gift?

Why do I always have to get my companions approval up? Why can't they try to increase my approval of them

Well. Alistair gives you a rose, Morrigan gives you a ring, Zevran gives you a... earring? I don't remember. Leliana gives you her heart or whatever.
