You thought Mass Effect had a lot of realism? Ahaha. You must not know much about earth/space science.Pwner1323 wrote...
It would be realistic, and the Lazarus project made sure ME lost all of it's realism (wich was a lot).

The "real world" reason is that Bioware knows that more mysterious is more compelling. A big part of why Tali is so popular is because we are all constantly wonder what she *really* looks like. Take away the mystery and its over - not quite as interesting.
It's not that much of a mystery.

Privacy, it's obvious and the hint is the fact that showing their face is like breaking their virginity status or it is a show of deep level of trust.
This. I think it's a cultural thing.

I believe the novels have said as much about the envirosuits themselves, so I assume it includes the visor. Quarians wear their suits even with no alien germs around because their ships are cramped. Nobody gets any privacy except in the confines of their suit.

Their visors are clear to them, its just when viewed with human eyes it seems translucent.

Liberal applications of genetic engineering, medi-gel, money, and cybernetics, all of which were known to exist in ME1 are "unrealistic"? Thanks. I now know exactly how seriously I should take your comments in the future. That is to say, "not very much at all."
As for quarians: privacy, and a killer Poker face.
Money is unrealistic?

Trust me Mass Effect has a few plotholes and unrealistic bits, does Davidarmstrong have an account here? He's a ME and Bioware fan and makes threads on another site about these sort of things
