Their views on politics, economics, religion and military are almost identical to my own.

I love turians.

Turian civilian vehicles with mass accelerator cannons installed.

Sure, probably no different than civilian humans having handguns at home, but it does raise an eyebrow.

Uhm very different then having a handgun. The human equivalent would be a tank or a missile/grenade launcher lol.

Turians are Space Romans. I didn't start liking the real Romans until their empire started to fall apart. I'm still not too much of a fan of the Hierarchy. They need a good revolution to set them straight. Garrus individually, though, is outrageously useful and entertainingly socially awkward.

To us it would be. But for a race that has simple homemade firebombs that can take out a tank as "basic training", that might suggest this is nothing new to them. Small wonder other races find their sense of honor so remarkable

The difference between Romans and Turians:
Romans wanted to rule everything they could just because they could. Almost all power and profit ended up in Rome.
Turians are content with protecting their own small part of the galaxy and are willing to work with other superpowers to keep as much of the rest of the galaxy relatively safe too.

The Hierarchy is not a system made for humans like us and thus we cannot expect to understand why it works for the turians, and it is is obviously a system that has served the turians well for a long time.

Turians and Romans... okay!

My opinion of the Turians is that "they are scaley" and extends not so much further than that.

I kinda like the Turians.

I think that of all the ME Races, they are very much like Humanity in a lot of respects & that may be part of the reason there's tension between the two.

Hawt. Sexy. Bird-like. Dinosaur-like. Even a hint of dog-like-ness, for some reason. But they also purr, which is awesome. They're apex predators. Interesting society which would make for awesome social complications on the individual vs. group level. Interesting design. Cool without needing to be primarily sexy-aliens like asari.

Also, I hate the cold, so I'd totally hang out on Palaven.

This sooooo much

Turians are a very solid and interesting race. I rather like their view on discipline being a very important aspect within their society.

Ah yes "Turians".

I have dismissed that claim.

Except for Garrus.

I had reach, but he had really corny sex stories and disobeying C-Sec.

So he's not dismissed.

Part of their charm you know. It's nice to have some characters that doesn't agree with everything Shepard says, despite renegade tantrums.

...more the "dark side" of humanity

They're imperialists, they commit war crimes left and right and democracy is a foreign word for them.

Turians are not simply 'the dark side of humanity' as they too happen to have a lot of positive traits.

Yes, your human definition of democracy is foreign for them. But they are not humans and can therefore not be ruled by human ideals.

I know we have a lot to learn from the Turians, like how to build a Galactic Empire, I vote that the Quarians as our first client species! Followed by an Alliance with the Geth to take over the Terminus Sytems and finally we will be ready to take on the Citadel, the Turians can have fun begging like children for help in front of a Geth-Human Council it would serve them right. Oh yes and we could free the Volus!

I can;t decide what they look like. A strange combination of a praying mantis, cat, crab and a lizard. But they are the most interesting looking race (IMO) If it was not for them attacking the Humans asd starting the first contact war I'd like them the most
