Definitely Sten. Sten was easily my favourite DAO companion. Despite being a warrior.

The OP asked two questions, who is my fav and who I would have return.
My fav is Loghain, personally I think his character is one of the best written and most believable, especially if you read the two prequels.
The companion I would have pop up in DA2 is: Either Lelliana or Zevhran, they are the only two who I could see appearing in Kirkwall. Sten might, but I doubt Qunari's would be well received. Alistair, Ogren, Wynne i cant really see going to Kirkwall (esp wynne she would die on the trip, she's had enough excitement). Morrigan is in some other dimension or somthin so shes out.
