The Longest Journey is my favourite series. If Mass Effect 3 won´t dissapoint and it will be as awesome as it can be, then it will be my favourite series along with TLJ. But now, mostly because of ME 2 I´m not sure how ME 3 will turn up. I hope it wont be as rushed as ME 2 otherwise it will be one of my biggest dissapointment in my gaming life..(that sounds nerdy

Mass Effect, DA, and Kotor are my overall favorite series', big surprise.
Also used to play the Total War series but got tired of the horrible multiplayer. Hitman is also a favorite.

Mass Effect is My Sci_fi Epic, my Star Wars of Video Games.
As when Star Wars first came out, it changed how I saw Movies. I was 6yrs old. Now with Mass Effect, with it's amazing story telling, characters, setting and consequences; it delivered one of the most unique gaming experiences I've ever had.
Mass Effect is not only the best game I've ever played, but has to potential to be so much more than just a game.

Mass Effect is a dumbed down KOTOR. It doesn't mean the game sucks or anything, though. ME is a fantastic series, easily one of the best this generation. It's better than KOTOR in some ways, but it isn't anywhere near as deep or involving. And the characters... goddamn, they blow Mass Effect away!
I love Mass Effect, one of my favorite set of games this gen. But I wouldn't say best game ever. I thought Dragon Age was a much better RPG, while Mass Effect was a much better action game and cinematic experience.

I loved both Mass Effect games and am looking forward to 3...
I can't call it my "Best Ever" because that seems to change with my mood. I will say it's in my Top 5...I had a Computer that was really old until April of 2010 so I didn't get to play a LOT of Games that looked good.
As far as KotOR...I'm not much of a Star Wars fan (waiting for the Collective gasp...) but it sounds like I may still enjoy it...
I'm not real good with Computers, would it be difficult for me to play on a Windows 7 system? (assume I know nothing when answering that question, please)

Mass Effect=Star Wars Original Trilogy
Mass Effect Franchise/ Best Sci-Fi Universe this Decade. I hope it continues to flourish.

The Mass Effect series is truly great, but for me the Baldur's Gate series is still number 1.
Fallout 1,2 & Planescape Torment are amazing RPG's aswell.

My favourite game is/was actually Company of Heroes - amazing RTS, too bad it was ruined by drophacking and wtf RERIC MAKE A BUG balance issues.
ME series are up there with Half Life series on the 2nd spot.

Agree.
After beating the first one I was obsessed.
When ME2 was coming out, I compulsively consumed any and all previews, trailers, etc. I watched the thing on ScyFy like 10 times.

I may agree that Mass Effect is one of the best game series I've ever played, although neither ME1 or ME2 has managed to reach the happy equillibrium between shooter and RPG that I would absolutely adore. I'm hoping ME3 will this do and I remain both optimistic and apprehensive. My greatest concern is ME3 will basically be ME2 again. For me it's all riding on ME3, if Bioware comes thru with Mass Effect it will easily be one of the best game series I have ever played.
My favorite games of all time are still the Baldur's Gate games. I still play through those games today and for me they are timeless classics. Mass Effect has done a good job of bringing that excellence back. I mean KOTOR, Dragon Age, etc. those are all good games but they lack the appeal both Mass Effect and Baldur's Gate have on me.
I have some other personal favorites like Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Snake Eater, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Shadow of the Colossus, Mercenaries, Rome: Total War, Starcraft. (1998 was a good year to be a Gamer...) Like I say a great game is something you can pick up and play years later and still have as much fun when it came out. I'm a little dubious this will be the case for Mass Effect since the graphics may begin to hold it back as time goes on.
I will say Mass Effect was very close to being my favorite game of all time. If it was a little less glitchy, had better A.I., and a more functional inventory, I would have been sold.

My favorite series of the current generation? Easily.
Best game ever? That honor goes to starsiege tribes. They could re-release that game with modern graphics and it wouldn't feel dated in the least imo, which is pretty impressive for a 12 year old game.

I can't say if I think it is best game ever however it is really up there in the top 3-5. I have to give Bioware a lot of extra points for the testing and quality of the game at release as it is so common these days to let the frustrated customer be the quality dept. Bioware is a classy company and ME2 is a superb game on all fronts.
