All the "Is-This-REALLY-An-RPG?" talk can be reserved by better (or in some cases lesser) men than I.
And what the hell is that about, anyway? Do you need a label to enjoy something? It's... It's about shelf-placement, isn't it?
That's a really good point.

....there is already too much smugness on these forums without you having to create a whole thread dedicated to it.
Look at the above quote.
Look at it again.
Again.
Again.
I agree with above quote.
Look at it again.
I don't see how
"I think all the criticism and mindless negativity is unjustified, because I'm sure the game will kick an absurd amount of ass, and everyone who thinks otherwise are just filled to the brim with negativity and criticism. I can say this, because I think everything Bioware are altering in regards to the first game, are good things."
Is any better than
"I think all the praise and mindless positivity is unjustified, because I'm sure the game will suckle an absurd amount of ass, and everyone who thinks otherwise are just noobs to the genre and/or fanboys-or girls. I can say this, because I think everything Bioware are altering in regards to the first game, are bad things."
Completely needless thread, resulting in a massive fanboy circlejerk.
Stop it.

Haters gonna hate. Why do these always have to turn into a flame war?

Why do these topics exist? They're off-topic and pointless. You won't become David Gaider's BFF if you make a topic saying how much you like DA2.
And being optimistic is not inherently better than being apprehensive or pessimistic.

Please don't flame someone for trying to make the developer of the game(s) we love have a slightly better day. They've done some good work in the past, and deserve some encouragement once in a while.

Having read a lot from the Decameron with passion, I'm really looking forward to Bioware's interactive framed narrative. It's an really interesting concept and I cannot recall any game that have tried this. The people who already declared that Bioware "dumbed down" DA2 are either trolls or fools.

but I also think that there is a big difference between constructive criticism and unconstructive criticism. Although I feel that it has died off a bit over the past couple of weeks I have seen a lot of people calling Dragon age 2 "Dragon-effect" or that it looks like an anime, with maybe a little bit in their posts about what they actually don't like about it. Those types of rants really have no place here (he says on the Internet
Constructive criticism is where you calmly state what you don't like about the game in a well thought out post without insulting the developers or saying how much you're not going to enjoy the game. I also think we should keep an open-minde for Dragon age 2 since it hasn't even been released yet and I bet Dragon age origins similarly picked apart before its release to.
And lastly, I also think that blatant fanboyism is just as bad as blatant negativity because saying "oh-my-God this game is going be the best game everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and all you naysayers are just newbs that live moms basements" is probably just setting yourself up for disappointment;).
but that's just my two cents
