I play Mass Effect 1 for the first time now(have only played Mass Effect 2
before), when Im finish with ME1 Im going to use the savefile from ME1
in ME2 Image IPB

But I have a question, do I get any negative consequences with Liara in
ME2 if I have a romance with her in ME1? What I mean by that is if she
will be less cooperative in ME2? Or does it have positve consequences in
ME2?
The same question goes for Ashley, whos best to have a romance with of those two?

The most hilarious thing about ME2, is that for all of this talk about consequences, and seeing your actions affect the galaxy...

There really are no consequences, and only a different shade when it comes to your decisions.... so choose away kiddo.

Its like Tex-Mex, its all the same, its just how you want it arranged.

However we don't know what effects may occur in ME3, so be sure to make some playthroughs with decisive sets of choices you'd like to explore cause I can think of tons of ways how certain decisions could affect the endgame with the Reapers. Just so are prepared in case ME3 has a larger impact on these kinds of things (or vice versa, depends on your perspective).

In the vanilla game, it's really a minor issue how you behaved towards your LI. They're appearances are little more than Cameo's. So for ME 2 that's not a big worry, insert Shadowbroker however and there's a lot more interaction with Liara, even an arguement or a fade to black tender moment.

It's really up to you, how you RP you char, is he/she the faithful type, or does he she fall for the first nice face that smiles at her. At this point there's no telling how things will be affected further down the line and i suggest you just enjoy a good game.

Yeah, i you have vanilla ME2 (like Spitfire80 said) neither Liara or Ash have real negative concequences. Ash does at first but then its fixed....kinda.

Once you get Shadowbroker you can continue your Liara romance. Unless you cheated.....then i would worry about the concequences. And this next thing of dlc coming out i have money bet on it being an Ash/Kaidan romance extension type-thing. Yo know.

So overall, it depends on what you have and dont have in terms of dlc.....sadly.

who ever you choose to romance it doesn't have a big impact in mass effect 2 but it will in mass effect 3 when its released

liara gives you the chance to romance her in mass effect 2 shadow broker dlc if you romanced her in mass effect 1. ashley just gives you diffrent dialog in the final horizan cut-scene

There may not be many consequences from ME1 in ME2, but you don't know which decisions get carried over to ME3.

Another question I have been thinking about regarding what carries over is:
After Sovereign has been defeated in ME1, you get the option to recommend either Udina or Anderson to the council, or you can choose to say it is not up to you. What I am uncertain of is what the effect is with the not up to me choice.

Having read some of the technical stuff about when the save game transfer file is created, I understand that it is in fact created before this choice is even made, resulting in the choice being made in ME2 with Miranda asking you what you decided. However when Miranda asks you in ME2, you haven't got the not up to me option any longer, so now you have to pick.

Does anyone know if the not up to me even has any effect at all?

No, 'fraid that last choice in ME1 isn't recorded, and as you said ME2 forces you to pick a councillor if you import (the default game picks Udina for you). After the tutorial you have to pick either Anderon or Udina. Anderson's got your back and won't compromise his principles, Udina's an ass but knows how to play the political game.

Don't worry to much most of the big Consequences will be a "you have a message at your private terminal commander"

Two of the decision are cool however
1.if you helped the secretary on Noveria
2.and a message from the Queen

For ME3 I hope that ME1+ME2 will be used for real effects in ME3
Genesis has to many inconsistencies and holes
