Here I shall present my totally, totally serious research into a Desire Spirit companion in DA2, with very little fun tongue-in-cheek to be had here.

Now while thinking about DA:O again, I noticed two NPCs who it is possible to both sleep with (for either gender) and have them teach you a specialisation. One is a certain Pirate Lady, Isabella, who has been announced as both companion and bisexual LI. The other is a misunderstood Desire Spirit in a mutual possession of Connor.

So my theory is that as Connor is far too young for a companion, the next best possibility is of course Herren:

A Desire Demon, eh Spirit, would be the perfect Shale type companion, and we need a female mage bisexual LI after all.

Note: Wait, by that criteria that also means Leli is a companion! You heard it here first!

Of course, you'd never be able to have a serious conversation with her, because you'd be staring at her ****** all the time.

And visiting her home base.... would mean the Fade. Which would be kinda weird to transition to on the world map.

Herren as a Desire Demon? Dislike. No ******. And what, a transformation before every fight? Pointless.

I can see it now... "Companions didn't die in DA:O, they just got knocked out. That's why they're back.", kidding of course.

Though yeah, I did harden Leliana, and did not defile the ashes either.

However, let's put it this way, Alistair is in DA2 at some point if you didn't kill him in DA:O, so I don't see why the same could not apply to other characters. I'd love it if she was back, but I am not getting my hopes up.

Is everyone forgetting Zevran here? Leliana was not the only bisexual companion who teaches you a spec. Aaaanyway, he's not an NPC either but since Leliana was brought up, I figured Zevran deserved a mention too.

Hmm, if Zevran also meets my stringent requirements, then that also means he MUST be a companion/ bisexual LI in DA2. Man, they're really going heavy on rehashing the old companions, I was hoping for a few new ones

I've actually never read any fanfiction ever...


...But judging by your comment, if it's full of these genius level story lines, then I'm not going to read anything other than fanfiction from now on. Though my generally understanding of fanficition is usually that it's primarily concerned with making characters who have shown no interest in each other have misguided sexual relationships.

Ya know, I felt that the subtle budding romance between Alister and Sten wasn't explored enough in my playthrough of the game.

I now know what I'm spending the rest of the week writing, with unnecessary naked scenes and an unexpected, but welcome cameo from Ser Pounce-A-Lot

Desire Demons creep me the hell out. They're pure unadulterated Uncanny Valley. Not interested in romance, thanks. One would certainly make for an interesting companion, though.
