It looks like Anders shows up in this video around 3:25. He's got that black shrug-thingy on his shoulders, so I'm assuming it is him (unless that's the new style in Thedas...).

Do you think that's him?
If it is, what do you think his role will be?

In any case, that would mean a potential three DAO characters as companions. I think that's way too much. I want new companions, not a bunch of my old ones. What would be the point as playing Hawke, in a new country, with a new story, if I'm just bringing the same people.

Any character who was previously a party member that we bring back as a party member again will be because we thought there was more to explore with them.

Minor characters from DAO, such as Isabela, are a different situation entirely. You barely got to know them, if at all. To assume that there's nothing more to them than the sliver you encountered is to ignore the fact that we can have whole new stories for them-- and the connection to DAO gives us a nice base to jump off of.

That's not to say that assumptions expressed in this thread are necessarily correct, I'm just saying that I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea, if I were you.

I don't have any problem in the return of a companion of DAO as a companion in DA2, but in the case of Anders, I have some doubts, only because in some endings he remains with the Wardens at Vigil's Keep. I'm ok I there's an explanation about his return, but I wouldn't like an Anders that has the same situation for every type of DAA import.

No matter what character we bring in, if they had any epilogue text (no matter how far into the future that epilogue forecast) I'm positive that we won't treat them nearly as sacrosanct as some people on these forums will think we should. That's not, you'll note, the same as not dealing with them at all. Posted Image

It's not the problem of the epilogue, but how Anders (if is a companion) acts. I really like Anders in DAA, and if he returns, I'm happy with that. I only want some changes in the dialogue, based on how he acted in Aweakening. What I don't want is that he tells my Hawke how my Warden gave him to the templars, while I haven't done such a thing.

We're unlikely to ignore something that's a major branching point-- but all I'm saying is that "we're not ignoring it" and "we're treating it as sacrosanct" are somewhat different things, especially when it comes to the forums. Image IPB

Sorry but no, Sebastian basically IS Nathaniel with a different face/name/accent.  We don't need two broody archers from noble houses who are out for revenge.

I think what's important is that you sussed out Sebastian's entire story from the clip. Since being noble archers that are out for revenge is all there is to either character, I guess we really should have stuck with just the one. Our bad.

I know very little of the revealed companions so far, but from my first impression (which is subject to change upon more reveal or gameplay) it seems most of the companions are dark/serious/broody in one way or another.

Varric and Isabela strike you as dark/serious/broody?
