"Anders" looks WAY too much like Anders. There is just no way they would create a character that looks so much like him.
Indeed. Which means your wishes are on the same plate.Miri1984 wrote...
Bioware does not exist to cater for the wishes of everyone, much as they might like to, it's simply not possible to please everyone!

My thoughts exactly! But maybe it's just a cameo, though I'd love to have Anders as a companion, he was very funny and made me enjoy the game even more, a lot more actually as I think of it
No but we can speculate more!Saibh wrote...
Apparently Alistair and Anders are not related (I guess?), yet they look nearly identical. So...it's possible someone at the DA team really likes that facial feature set.
Anyhow, we've only seen a single blurry screenshot. He's a blond mage, possibly with a ponytail. We can't surmise anymore.

I believe the male human mage will be revealed as Anders. I also believe he might be revealed as a blood mage due to the fact that he is the only ally (I am aware of) to converse about a specialization you choose for the character. I know many are going to bring up the point that he is a spirit healer by default but he never mentions it however, he does mention that it is ironic that he is now a blood mage. I do know that is is only if you make Anders a blood mage but I think it is odd he is the only character to mention being in a specialization they were not already placed in.

In any case, that would mean a potential three DAO characters as companions. I think that's way too much. I want new companions, not a bunch of my old ones. What would be the point as playing Hawke, in a new country, with a new story, if I'm just bringing the same people.
Any character who was previously a party member that we bring back as a party member again will be because we thought there was more to explore with them.
Minor characters from DAO, such as Isabela, are a different situation entirely. You barely got to know them, if at all. To assume that there's nothing more to them than the sliver you encountered is to ignore the fact that we can have whole new stories for them-- and the connection to DAO gives us a nice base to jump off of.
That's not to say that assumptions expressed in this thread are necessarily correct, I'm just saying that I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea, if I were you.

Spirit Healer is actually returning as a mage specialization. (That and blood magic are the only ones from DAO they're bringing back, as far as I know)

ALSO, the fact that Witch Hunt had two mentions of Anders when there were no mentions of any of the other characters also, in my opinion, counts as a point in favour of him being in DA2.
A book in the library has some graffiti in the margins that shows templars being mauled by a cat or some such.ReallyRue wrote...

Which mentions were these?? I heard the one about mage exercise being cancelled because Anders jumped in the lake and swam for it. But what's the other?
