Why couldn't Anders be the bi romance? Who knows what he's been getting up to in that tower full of free lovin' hippies?

No but really, I mean, Zev was the bi option in Origins and he said he preferred women over men anyway, so Anders' comment about wanting a pretty girl could really mean nothing.

I for one don't believe Anders will be in this game. There are just way to many variable's to deal with for it to be plausible.

1) He is constantly being caught by templars

2) It is possible that he dies in awakening

3) When all of this fun is happening in Kirkwall he'll be level 30+ to Hawke's 10-15.

Those are the big three... I'm just really surprised that this is going on this long... I liked Anders, but, I don't think we'll be seeing him in DA2.

No reason Anders can't be bi. Although I don't think he is, doesn't mean he isn't! I reckon he's pretty open to experimentation.

@AngelicMachinery ANY companion they bring back comes up against the problem of possible previous death. ANY OF THEM. It didn't help bother them with Oghren or Wynne, so it's not going to bother them with Anders.

Oh I hope it's Anders. He's cutie and his personality is damn funny. I loved his comment when I walked into the room and saw the templars and darkspawn dead on the floor. He's my kind of guy plus I hate the chantry. I guess DA2 is a perfect game for me.

I really liked Anders in Awakening, so if he's in DA 2 too, I'm so looking forward to seeing him again.

1) He constantly escapes...

2) 1 out of 4 or so endings has an conclusive death, worst case scenario you start a playthrew with no Anders, see mass effect 3 for further reading

3) the logic in that is so moronic that i'll go ahead and just unread it

Well, it would be logical if it was Anders.

1: The 6:th companion looks like Anders in Cassandras book and in the group pic.

2: So far there are 2 Warriors (1 male, 1 female), 2 rouge (1 male, 1 female) and 1 female Mage. Logic say that the last will be a male Mage.

3: A male Mage that looks like Anders could be Anders.

Now, I never played the version where Anders dies in Awakening but I remember that some character deaths in Awakening was not clear on what exactly happened.

I'm starting to think it is more likely that he isn't Anders.

It was said ONE partymember from DAO is returning and that is Merrill. She was an origin partymember but it still applies.

If it was Anders that would mean 3 companions are DAO characters coming back (Isabela, Merrill and Anders) and that seems like a large number to me. Half of DA2 partymembers (shown in the book) would be DAO characters.

I wouldn't consider Merrill a party member. She went one time with the warden to look at the mirror and then that was it. If that's what Bioware considers a part member then their idea and mine are totally different.

"If left to defend the Keep without enough upgrades to it, he is found dead with an arrow through his neck with hundreds of darkspawn dead in a circle around him; none were touched with a blade, but all were felled by magic."

Sounds pretty conclusive to me. :P

I don't know, after what happened in DAA with Mhairi I think anything's possible...

Considering Wynne and Oghren both reappear in Awakening even if you killed them with that import character, and that Gaider has said they're not treating the epilogues as sacrosanct (specifically mentioning that if they want to bring someone back they will, regardless of if they can potentially be dead), I don't think it matters much that he can die defending the keep.

Im kinda new here to the bioware forum but has anyone considered the destruction of Lothering ( which is probably when Hawk fled to Kirkwall) and it's relation time-wise to the time of Awakening.

I have. About 2 years. But we are not talking about a temp. companion but a fulltime.

Could Anders be the son of Flemeth and Maric?

WHOA... you may be onto something there! *shivers* Oh, the possibilities are intriguing... the only thing that makes me hesitate is that Alistair and Anders really seem about the same age. Anders would be a good bit older than Alistair if that were the case. It's possible, and certainly interesting, but I don't really expect it.

For the love of the Maker,THIS.

I cannot for the life of me see why. He belongs with the Warden, dammit. Putting him with Hawke would be like writing a fanfic where Beatrice broke it off with Benedick and moved far away to be with Claudio. EW. No. It's the Warden Nathaniel has history with! Hawke can't have him.

Anders was from Awakening, not Origins. Small but important difference.

The fact that DA2 is a somewhat risky venture which changes the game a bit probably means they would have all the more incentive to bring back known characters--if the DAO purists hear that Merrill, Isabela, and Anders are back, plus a few cameos like Zevran, Alistair, etc., then that would be an incentive to buy DA2.

Maybe it's somebody entirely new, but I'm crossing my fingers for Anders.

Except if Anders faked his death to fool the templars. :D

If Anders is in DA2, and he happens to be an LI (like some people are claiming that he will be, for some reason) then I hope he looks a lot better than his DA Awakenings character. I thought he was a cheap knock-off of Alistair, with a ponytail and earring. So if he's going to be in DA2, I want him to be smoking hot-sexy.

Yes, he has the same nose, but otherwise he's actually more different than people think, looks wise. If you pop the two of them together you can see it really well.

And I think he already is smokin' hot sexy. But I'm biased. The fan art out there shows the differences better than the game does. Alistair's got a big, manly jaw, Anders is chiseled. Anders' eyes are smaller. The game's limitations have made them more similar than they should be, I agree, but I don't think he's a cheap knock-off. I rather think he's the refined, improved version :).

Maybe The Mage in the background wasn't Anders, maybe he was, but I'm nearly positive that whoever his is, he is a companion. First it's assumed that he is, because he's standing with Hawke's party in the first Dev diary video, but in the second dev diary, there's a picture of him along with all the other companions in a book that Varric is holding, which I'm pretty sure wouldn't include him if he were just some random NPC. At least we can have the assurance that if the mystery mage is indeed Anders, he wont be a simple cameo, he'll be a full time companion. :)

Out of anyone is returning from DAO or Dao:a, Anders is definitely my first choice.

Cant say i would be thrilled about an Anders return, But im open to being surprised, with him being a full on companion unlike the half baked ones in awakening gives me some hope.

Varric and Isabela strike you as dark/serious/broody?

I still think we need more fun-light-hearted-silly-humor characters like Alistair's or Anders:pinched:. I liked that a lot. So far the characters don't seem that fun but then again there's not that much info~ and I would probably enjoy Varric a lot, but I don't think I'd give a crap about Isabela. Eh~

I was thinking. Given the epilogue where Anders joins the Siren's call, perhaps we meet him when we recruit Isabela, and he becomes a temporary companion, thus that is him in the screenie. But he isn't the mysterious 6th party member

He looked like one of the pre sets in the character creator, My Human noble look weirdly like a freaky cross between him and Nathaniel. Strange stuff...more so with Howe...Human Noble's mother strays in my game...

I think anders is definetly coming in the new ign preview the guy said we would run into people coming from both origns (Isabela, Merril) and Awakening which is probably anders     (he said this at the bottom under relationships)

When I heard of a character from Awakening being in DA2, I thought it was gonna be Nathaniel, because when someone asked David Gaider if Nathaniel was going to be in DA2, he immediately replied: "Why would I spoil that for you?" as in there's something to spoil. Plus, Nathaniel was in the free marches during Origins, so if he is in the game, he's probably not a party member.
