If the six faces in Varric's book are the core companions, neither Bethany nor Carver will be a long-term playable companion. More confirmation for the surviving sibling being chosen for the story and not for a balanced party?
*Ends speculation*
Oh, and Cassandra looks fantastic.

I don't think her breasts look that big at all. Fairly wide but not very deep, skintight clothing and the lighting doesn't help, nor does her overall lack of size (almost thinner than the guys biceps). Her stomach seems to bulge in that light. She looks unusual, is that the way all elves are going to look?

Did you see the 'outrage' of being 'forced' to play with Carver, who somehow managed to be infinitely less desirable than Bethany based on absolutely nothing but appearance?Russalka wrote...
Did you even see the "ugly threads"?
As I said, people complained about Isabela, but most of it was because she's 'irredeemably whorish' for having an optional sex scene in Origins with consenting adults that suggest the act in the first place.

Still, the lighting looks much worse than it did before and the poly-count seems pretty low on some of the models now. Add bad, low-res textures to that and you've got a very unremarkable looking game. And I saw the some of the same NPC's like five times during the same scene.
I know this is really picky, but: "Thus began the Champion's first year in Kirkwall, settling his debts with the Mercenaries. That's when I first... met the Champion."
Saying "Champion" twice sounded really awkward there. A rather sloppily-written line if you ask me.

Other than that, it was cool to watch.
Yeah, it seemed really, really off when I watched it too. Borderline Godzilla movie stuff.

1. I felt there was a great deal of variance in the graphical quality overall. The Cassandra scenes in particular appeared to possess a greater degree of detail than many of the others that were shown. I'm inclined to cautiously view this in a positive light as I would expect this to indicate that either scenes were taken from different builds, or more generally that the higher quality scenes are closer to what should be expected from the finished product (And I thought those looked more than suitable). My expectations for improvement aside, I did feel several of the scenes on display could benefit from refinement.
2. A few specific aesthetics. A.) Hawke's beard is out of control(but that's my problem. Still, I would have liked to use the customized face). The man needs a trimmer. B.) I was also a little struck by Merril's um ... youthful appearance. Hopefully that will be the recipient of some tweaking (I don't think it needs much). We don't need Hawke getting busted for statutory. C.) We only saw Merill, but it seemed a little strange that her ears extended more horizontally than vertically. Is this a consequence of head modeling, and is this a characteristic of all elves going forward? D.) I hesitate to mention it, but I'm a red-blooded male in my mid-twenties and even I thought Isabela was a trifle over-endowed.
3. It was presented largely out of context and deprived of atmosphere (which are things to bear in mind), but once or twice I did wince a little at Hawke's delivery (Though the lines were difficult ones). Typically I'm not overly sensitive to such things however, so it may be that once in game I will quickly acclimate to what now seems somewhat discordant.
4. It should be a great game, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm interested to see what Bioware's cooked up for us, and I'm curious to discover how the lessons they drew from Origins have affected DA2. Some of their analysis appears to have differed from mine, at least in its conclusions. (Hmm, that sounds pretentious, which is something (I perhaps futilely) try to avoid. I considered different aspects of Origins to be more substantial flaws than those that appear to have been explicitly addressed (Not sure if that's better. Still looking forward to the game))

You know what I personally think it is??
His beard is given the illusion of length, but his jaw is NOT. He has like no jawline if you remove that beard!
It is a little thing, but I usually play the female anyway. Still, it was jarring. if they just make his jaw a bit deeper and chin a bit deeper, I think, though long, it would not draw your eye to it.
The beard also makes you look at his mouth and nose more. Take that for what it is worth.

Yes and facial lines/wrinkles to boot.

She looks like infected by Darkspawn desease - definitely not healthy. Breasts are unnatural large for such a slim body frame... She is pale like a walking corpse, and her eyes are so alien :\\
Most shown in this trailer was superb, no doubt about that. But two things I noticed that were quite off. For once Hawke's facial animation looked like an old, talking nuttcracker figurine. And, well, Merrill, that's quite an u-turn from the look I'm used to regarding elves.

Too young, yes. That is my impression as well. Underage. An underage-looking implied LI
