Perhaps someone at BioWare had enough of the "female elf LI plx" threads and decided to have the last laugh in this matter...Tarahiro wrote...
The only comment I have is Merrill. I think she looks good for a female elf, but she looks like the small and adorable 'little sister' type and it would look so wrong if Hawke was to romance her >.

It seems even Merrill has enormous hooters. *sigh*
Glad that there is someone else who think that this is strange...I mean...in all of DA:O, everyone had huge breasts. Everyone. Even..even......Wynne.
I want some women with normal-sized breasts too plz
What are normal sized breasts? :innocent:
Having all sorts of breast sizes....in reality, not every woman has those D breasts.

Maybe her eyes should be less angular (or is it her cheekbones?), but, overall, I think that we're just seeing her at a weird angle. Although, her staff looks enormous behind her.
I never was a fan of the hair worm hairstyle, though.

Oh, has the obsessive picking apart of female character appearances started already? How nice.
It's the song that never ends,
It just goes on and on my friends...
My problems with Merrill's appearance has to do with her looking like a sexualized child.
And I think most other peoples issue is with the new elf design.

--Love how Mike and Mark give interviews; Mike in particular was born for this sort of thing, he just seems so natural.
--Jennifer Hepler is adorably nerdy and she seems whip-smart, I LOVE her.
--"She fills her days making poisons. And cake. Tell me you didn't try the cake..." *snickers* I'm glad to see there's a sense of fun to Hawke; I like my dialogue options laced with humor.
--Dave Gaider is so remarkably unassuming on camera, but I love his commentary.
--So sweet to get a good look at Carver and Aveline, and I'm liking the Warrior/Mage/Rogue Hawke versions.
--The bloody-smoke details really are beautiful. Nice production values.
--Huh... so Varric is... kinda good-looking.
--Love Cassandra's new look (the black hair fits her better somehow) and her exotic accent.
--Aveline's VOICE! Oh, I love how she sounds and what she says... I can't imagine not loving her, now!
--*fangirlish sigh at seeing who she talks to next* (Fenris)
--Isabela's voice is great, too. I love the note of almost innocent surprise when she says, "you aren't thinking of bringing feelings into this, are you?" It's intriguing.
--Oh my GOD that elf chick!! She looks so weird but I LOVE LOVE LOVE her appearance; it's beautiful. She looks cute and creepy and kind all at once. She must be our mage! Adorable thing. I'm very curious about her. I imagine the guys who were hoping for an elven LI in DAO will be super-happy, assuming she's an option. Only detractor is that her rack looks too big for her body.
--Carver's voice! And he doesn't look derpy at all, as I suspected; I mean, if you think about it, there's the ogre fight lead-in where the Warden makes an incredibly stupid-looking (on most characters) expression; that doesn't mean you did a bad job with the facemaker, it's just that nobody looks cool when they're shocked. I love the way he looks there. I seriously can't wait to hang with him and your other relatives in the game; I've been dreaming of a game story where your family didn't tragically die for ages.
To sum it up, I would only be able to utter a very undignified "SQUEEEEEEE!" so I'm going to just refrain. Or pretend to. Not very successfully.

I noticed a mouse arrow gliding over the reply wheel in the scene(s) with Isabela. I'm not sure if all of it is from the PC, though.

So I see Aveline, Leandra, Carver, and Male Hawke. Perhaps this is Isabela's ship on the way to Kirkwall.

Bingo.
Its just creepy looking and rather off putting to have Merrill from Origins appear like an adult elven woman and now to look like a 12 year old girl with DDs tacked on=
I don't care much for the new Elven design if Merrill is indicitive of it either- its just more generic looking fantasy than anything they had in Origins and goes into creepy territory.

I don't think she looks THAT young, but even if that's the case I doubt the character model will change.

Merrill looks great actually. I'm sure she will look better in-game..those shots don't do her justice.
And that definitely is Sandal at 3:38! He's just standing there, watching Hawke and Isabella do it lol
Anyone else think that the last character in Varric's book looks like Nate Howe? That or Anders..I'm sure of it!

Man, this got me hyped :3
Edit: Forgot to mention the bit with Carver; his voice seems pretty good, and I absolutely love how he was interacting with his brother. If there's more things like that, this game's going to be even cooler than I thought

Like Gaider said (and that we've repeated), there's something up with the angle--he says she doesn't look like that, which is good enough for me.
Anyhow, I like the redesign. They look less like humans--still close enough for my standards of DA, but a bit more foreign, now. Not spectacularly beautiful like they are in other fiction, but with a unique look.

Or as drastic as in MassEffect? Where it didn't matter if you released the rachni Queen, because all it did was have an unimportant NPC show up and tell you she is fine? Woohooo that was really a strastic consequence.
I hope you have taken notes at Alpha Protocol about Storylines which are effected by Ingame Decisions, but they kind of made what i always was expecting to see when you guys spoke about Decisions that matter.

Err... I'm assuming this is because there's voiceover that says this when Merrill is on-screen?
Just
a word of caution not to see the two as being related-- sometimes they
are, though not in the way you might think. You're free to believe what
you like, however, all I'm saying is not to make assumption based on
that alone. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png
It wasn't confirmed that she said that about Merrill.
