How do you even know she said the "virginal" line about Merrill?

The only thing about the video which is bothering me is their talk about consequences again. Really? We will feel drastic Consequences? As drastic as we did in Dragon Age?

I mean, I guess we don't but you can't really use that word to describe Isabela. Or Aveline. And it wouldn't apply to Bethany since she's off-limits. So by process of elimination I'm not seeing too many other candidates.

- textures look a lot smoother (more detailed) than in other videos ; is this the PC version or just more recent footage ?
I noticed a mouse arrow gliding over the reply wheel in the scene(s) with Isabela. I'm not sure if all of it is from the PC, though.
So I see Aveline, Leandra, Carver, and Male Hawke. Perhaps this is Isabela's ship on the way to Kirkwall.

My problems with Merrill's appearance has to do with her looking like a sexualized child.
And I think most other peoples issue is with the new elf design.
Bingo.
Its just creepy looking and rather off putting to have Merrill from Origins appear like an adult elven woman and now to look like a 12 year old girl with DDs tacked on=
I don't care much for the new Elven design if Merrill is indicitive of it either- its just more generic looking fantasy than anything they had in Origins and goes into creepy territory.
I think it's pretty obvious, since they start talking about romances... and they say "from virginal girl next door" as Merrill is shown, then go onto say "crazy up against the wall let's have it on right here" when Isabella is shown.Russalka wrote...

Clearly she was referring to Varric.

.... that'd be an awkward conversation.
I am sorry. I just realised, they must have not shown Merrill - the unconfirmed until now companion - for any reason when talking about romances. Infact, the virginal girl next door comment clearly relates to Anders, who will surely be announced right after this comment.Russalka wrote...

I see it, but I also see a lot of assumptions.

Hey, anybody notice 1:13? We finally get a glimpse of the murder knife as Hawke cuts some guy's throat with it.

Yeeeesss Wynne, come. Come to the Dwaaaaarf Side.
Her boobs are unusually large for her skinny frame, but it doesn't bother me as much as it otherwise would when I consider the City Elf origin. It would certainly explain all the more why creeps like Vaughan are drawn to elven women. Having a body type that, to humans, looks both ultra-youthful and ultra-fertile would draw sexual interest of exactly the wrong kind. It's sort of dark, really. Troubling to contemplate. Still, the boobs are a bit outrageous, not just slightly over the top but noticeably over the top. But other than the way too large boobs, I think she's just adorable.Atakuma wrote...

Alistair was virginal, but I never felt creepy romancing him; then again, he looked much older than this girl. We don't know what they have planned, though. It might be cute if she was utterly oblivious to romantic advances for the first 5 years Hawke knows her or something like that. Despite how she looks, her attitude and how she's handled will make all the difference in whether what romance may exist for her ends up feeling creepy or not.scyphozoa wrote...
I thought the use of the word virginal was pretty creepy. I don't know if there are many non-creepy uses for it. :\\\\\\\\

I'm not really certain playing the sex card is justified. Every reveal has been 'picked apart', analyzed, praised, and criticized irrespective of gender.
Sorry, but that's not true at all. Female characters have always been disproportionately picked apart -- usually by male fans, though not always -- than male characters. There's probably lots of reasons for that, but it's been pretty consistently true for many games now.
