My problems with Merrill's appearance has to do with her looking like a sexualized child.
And I think most other peoples issue is with the new elf design.

I agree with the whole creepy sexualized child thing... even if she does look a little like Dobby.

Merril looks really creepy.
Carver looks and sounds more annoying than any other character I've seen in DA. He will die asap in my playthroughs.

Overall a good video.. raised my interest in the game significantly, even with all my nitpicks.

1. Well, she is a different race. I mean Thane off Mass Effect 2 looked creepy but not many people made a fuss because people acknowledged that he was of a different race (drell). No point trying to overhumanise the other races.
2. So you're going to get him killed because you don't like how he looks or sounds? That's insane!!

I actually like Merrill's design in spite of ( or because of ) the giant rack. What I'm more concerned about is the giant, oversized chunk of wood behind her. I can't imagine her tiny hands around that stick... I mean on her back... I mean (sigh) whatever.

while i was iniatially a bit sceptic about male Hawkes VO, i`m starting to like it. I still would like to hear female Hawkes VO, but still, the game looks awesome. And they have fixed the chin on Isabella. YES!!! Screw you haters! I knew that my preorder $$$ was in great hands. Bioware- You are the best!

*chuckling* Well, it does stand out, but those are rogues. Rogues have to have more arm strength than most. I wish they'd tone it down a tad, but it doesn't actually bother me. Thankfully, mage!Hawke looks fairly slender in contrast, in keeping with his lack of strenuous arm work. With elf girl--you can't work out your boobs. Sorry. You just can't. You can work out and have it affect your boobs, but your boobs do not grow giant muscles of their own volition.

Wow, I never thought of it before, but it could be the case. It would be interesting to see a virgin (whether assumed or actual) who wasn't goofy and sweet like Alistair, but rather, tenacious and fierce with hesitance rather than nerves about being with somebody. That could describe Sebastian, too, though, I guess--if he was a younger son and hooked up with the Chantry, it may be that he's never been with anyone. Anders--Anders I think has definitely had sex a few times before, assuming he's a companion. And though the idea of Varric is interesting, I doubt it. He's far too charming to not have slept with someone.

Fenris and Sebastian, however, I could see it being about either or even both. Doubtfully both, but you never know.

Wow, very impressive vid. It's nice to see a lot of the stuff talked about in action. I definitely like the direction the game has taken. Never been a fan of elves just being humans with pointy ears, so I like the new elf design. Also, Cassandra looks much more... natural and real with black hair. Much better.

True. Everyone should go take a look at the histrionics taking place on TES V: Skyrim's forums. I've never seen so many people angrily insult developers and announce their intent to boycott the game due to the way leveling is being implemented, or they perceive it is being implemented (which is more accurate, because almost nothing has been detailed). "OMG F-Bethesda Stoorpid Dumbassthes level scaling just care about the money and it'll be buggy and SUCK and oblivion was a ****ty game breton no guns fallout eech Bethesda Sucks!"

I much prefer this place. Also, the Dev presence is unique, and very much appreciated.
