My problems with Merrill's appearance has to do with her looking like a sexualized child.
And I think most other peoples issue is with the new elf design.
Bingo.
Its just creepy looking and rather off putting to have Merrill from Origins appear like an adult elven woman and now to look like a 12 year old girl with DDs tacked on=
I don't care much for the new Elven design if Merrill is indicitive of it either- its just more generic looking fantasy than anything they had in Origins and goes into creepy territory.
I'm in agreement with this, having child like LI is just weird, creepy and more than a little wrong, so I'm hoping that either she is not a LI, or that the look is less childlike than the footage suggests.
Other than that (fairly big concern) I like look of the rest of the game just fine.

Yea, my first thought as well . . . I have to listen to that all game????
Thus, the danger of the voiced PC.
Have we heard LadyHawke yet? I may have to play female . . . .

I know its already been said a bunch of times, but the more I watch the trailer the more ridiculous I think Isabela looks. She is so busty she looks like she was designed right out of a Russ Meyer movie.
Must... resist...commenting...on...Isabela....
....
I guess that was a telling comment anyway.

How is that a bad thing exactly ? Plus, they look natural, if I may comment.

Nice to see the writers talk about the game as well. David Gaider in this clip made the the game seem more appealing to me than all the previous "Spartans pushing awesome buttons" marketing.

The only thing that I did not approve of was the lack of Fenris dialogue. Oh, the horror to finally see him on screen and then realize that's it... [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie]
I'm getting more and more excited for the game as they reveal more information. Now all I need is to hear femHawke's and Fenris' voice and to know who the mysterious "Anders" guy is before I retreat to a dark, secluded place... The following two months are going to be cruel.

This is disappointing. Merrill looks like E.T. with breast implants.
It's the eyes. They really do make her look like E.T.
She looks like black-haired Aerie from BG II.
I like Carver's looks and Cassandra's looks. I wish we could have heard Fenris' voice.
Mama Hawke looks very very young.
Can I be the first to complain about two male Hawke's LIs being revealed and no straight female Hawke's LIs being revealed?

I can only speak for myself. How is it bad? Context. I personally will find it amusing, if not distracting to be "rising to power" with a FFF busty pirate in my party. Just like Russ Meyer movies had plots and stories, regardless of the content of the story, it was still cast with super-busty women. Its just belief-suspending. In the same way that I find the very large 2h swords belief-suspending. I'm not asking for realism in a fantasy game, its just a matter of context and immersion. Some stuff just takes me out of context and breaks the immersion.

Lol! Too depressed to talk about it. I will say that the dialogue and acting seem excellent, but I was never in any doubt of that. The rest.... I'm too sad. I'm going to go eat ice cream now.Bryy_Miller wrote...

It's a fantasy game. Female characters will always have big bre*sts because men enjoy them and women want to have them. Male dwarves aren't romanceable because real life women don't find short men sexy. It's all about adhering to an ideal that satisfies the player.

Whats more bizarre is that most, if not all, females have DDs. Outside of the ones in armor, even the old chantry lady in Sebastian's trailer, Bethany and (seemingly) Merrill are huge. I'm ok if some women are depicted as such in the game, but it cringe worthy when every women looks that way more or less.
I know it likely comes down to having a finite amount of models, but still, it comes across as rather juvenile.
