After watching the video, I want to play nooooow!

It was always going to be a tough job making DA2 better than Origins, because Origins set such a high standard . . . but judging from the video, Bioware succeeded in this task.

And I couldn't agree more with Gaider's closing comments about evolving the series instead of taking the easy option.

I'd like to ask the developers. So varric is telling the story of hawke, and then we will play that story. Is that all about dragon age 2? or do we get to play the situation why cassandra needs hawke? the current situation?

I love the look of the game overall. But why do elves look so pale and awful?

New art design. Which I'm surprised to say, looks awesome.

Right you are the hive mind of everyone who dislikes the DDs for every single female in game including Hawke's ]mother totally jealously that is.

Yes. Because that's exactly what I've claimed to be.

Also, I don't remember rallying for every female in the game to have DD's. Another spot on observation.

They are really trying to shove this Framed Narrative concept down our throat.

What's with the breast hate? These are fantasy characters, so female jealousy and fake male political correctness can hit the bricks.

*eyeroll*

Dude, in real life I wear an F-cup. I certainly have no reason to be jealous of the DA2 characters on that account. However, I think that every female character in the world having an enormous rack is silly, and that's what people are complaning about. Not to mention that it makes me wince in sympathy when I think of the back and neck pain they are probably suffering from.

I just hope that my female Hawkes can have less ... spectacular ... proportions. Since this is my fantasy too, I would like to roleplay free from the many downsides of having such large endowments.

Oh boy...
- Cassandra looks even more like Noomi Rapace, which is not a bad thing. Not at all Posted Image

- Really liking the voices.

- The graphics look stunning.

- This got me even more exited

However, why didn't they let us hear Fenris' voice?

As someone else pointed out, Fenris isn't pale at all. He's got quite the tan.

Merrill does look pale, but she already looked pale during the Dalish warden origin too, so that's nothing new.

Worst case ceneryo: the framed narrative causes us to not connect with our Hawke, then Bioware has 2 paths 1. tries again with a new story and all that they've learned through trials and errors 2. Bioware acts on the fact that everyone's complaining that they still like there Wardens way more than Hawke, So either this game will be eppic, or it'll cause the creating of a game in a year or 2 that's TRULY epic.

I'm liking pretty much everything I see here in a general sense, some thoughts though

-Hawke's voice just majorly grew on me, though the delivery of some of those lines left me... not realising it was hawke talking til halfway, though that could just be the weird lipsynch in the middle of the video

-the appearance is also growing on me, though he seems to have an ever so slight underbite with his lower jaw sticking out a little, which could be an artifact of his moustache covering the upper lip completely, but anyway

-great to see some facial animations on hawke too

-playing with props! I love this!

-Cassandra looks right menacing with her new black mop, and plays menacing too, the dynamic of the interrogation seems much nastier than I'd gotten from the Rise To Power trailer

-Carver's showing some definite personality, not that I bought into the derp theory but I hadn't expected to like him as much as I've ended up doing

-Varric's nose is a lot more hooked than I'd realised before...

I love when RPG's split you up.

To me, it makes the party. . .seem. . .less dependant on you. It reminds me why I carry them along again.

Bioware never does it, though.

the

rescue sequences in KotOR and DAO would tend to refute that, or did I

misunderstand what you were meanning by "split up the party"?

I love both those rescue sequences, particularly the KotOR on when using HK-47

6. The architecture is amazing. I’m loving every aspect of the city and rooms that I see.

7.

I love all the armor and the clothes, w/ the exaction of that blasted

hood ornament that sticks out of (Warriror?)Hawke’s chest.

8. Now can we hear LadyHawke?

Definitely agree on the architecture and wanting to hear Ladyhawke. The outfit with the hood ornament is the mage one, actually

Like Gaider said (and that we've

repeated), there's something up with the angle--he says she doesn't look

like that, which is good enough for me.

Anyhow, I like the redesign. They look less like humans--still close enough

for my standards of DA, but a bit more foreign, now. Not spectacularly

beautiful like they are in other fiction, but with a unique

look.

Agreed, and based on nothing but the expression on

her face, I'm tentatively glad to have a Dalish companion who won't

diatribe on my being a disgusting shemlen who refuses to beat people

senseless because they're polite and thus weak

I don't think she

looks so much like a human child, it's more like.... if humans are

alsatians then elves are greyhounds, to use a dogs as a metaphor

I'm glad I preordered this. When Dragon Age Origins  first came out I thought it was something that I wouldn't be interested in. I usually play Final Fantasy and had passed on getting it. Last December I don't know why but I decided to try  it out and I'm so glad I did now!

I like the cut scenes and the character models look great to me. I don't care too much for Cassandra or Carver but I also didn't like a few characters from Origins IE: Leliana, Sten, Wynne....But I still loved the game!

Just over 50 days till release =]

I've been dreading this moment. I've seen it coming. But I cannot deceive myself any longer.

I...hate the beard. Specifically, the way it flips out at the sides. Why must it do this? Trailer!Hawke's is so much better...

And I couldn't agree more with Gaider's closing comments about evolving the series instead of taking the easy option.

What Gaider describes as "evolving" is really a degredation from true RPGs to another generic and mindless action game filled with a few banal dialogue choices. Much like ME 2, DA 2 might turn out to be a good action game but it is most certainly not an RPG.

Really? You've played it and you know?

Cause to me, those weapon trees they showed looked like a slight change from DAO, which was an rpg. You are roleplaying Hawke. hmmm isnt rpg a roleplaying game? funny i thought roleplaying was roleplaying. but if it isnt roleplaying then what is roleplaying? (sorry got carried away ;) )

ME2 was with some slight exaggeration a roleplaying game. It was more action than me1 but it was still atleast partially (much too little in my opinion) a roleplay game. the only thing da2 has in common with me2 is the 2. Different writers, different dev's. Since we aren't gonna run around from a first person pov and click to swing a sword (TES style) how is this less of an rpg than DAO? or is that not an rpg either? for that matter maybe BG or NWN isn't either.

If you could enlighten us with your wisdom as to how this is an action game... at all... please do so, cause I don't see it.

I think bioware (at least for now) is done with making true RPG's. They are using RPG as a foundation for what they want to do with their very own franchise. It's a mix of genre's and there isnothing that currently comes to mind that makes me think of that is similar to what they are doing with Mass Effect and Dragon age. They are cinimatic, they are action oriented as well as RPG, and they have alot of emotional involvment through story telling for alot of people. Many games have a few of these elements but not many do it as successfully as bioware is doing it. Before they were working with D&D stuff, so naturally they would have to stick very close to the RPG format. But dragon age is their own thing, they can do what they wish with it.

They may not be evolving the RPG genre, but they are mixing it well with others, making it in a way a genre of its very own. "Interactive Cinematic Action RPG" :P

I mean it really is laughable how you guys just rev into full on flame mode the second someone criticizes a BioWare game. Also, your post was TL;DR
