I feel the same way....the beard looks odd. I thought it would be epic but it just doesn't do it for me. Well I never go with the default face so it doesn't really matter.Slugwood wrote...

I...hate the beard. Specifically, the way it flips out at the sides. Why must it do this? Trailer!Hawke's is so much better...

First i wasn't flamin. I was askin you to back up what you are saying. I could say some random thing with out evidence too.
The Sky is purple.
That didn't make the sky purple, nor did i give evidence to show it is (screen shots in this case).
I did get sarcastic because thats me. So instead of calling me a random fanboy, respond with something that you can use to show your point.
Second idk what Tl;DR is please explain.

Ah so you admit to fabricating BS to make yourself sound better? Understood.
What the hell are you talking about? What did I fabricate? I noticed an irrational and overly emotional hatred directed toward a couple characters based solely on their breast size. I called it out for being moronic and I stand by that assertion. I can't even begin to understand what I would 'fabricate' to 'make myself sound better.' Better than what? And what exactly am I recovering from?

Forms of declination, reverse revolution if you will, from true RPGs to mindless and generic "hack n' slash" action aimed at the low IQ crowd is not really improving upon or pushing the envelope of the RPG genre. BioWare's Dragon Age II will most certainly end up being a spectacular failure in that endeavor.

Dragon Age II, in all seriousness, will most likely end up being yet another one of BioWare's derivative and mindless, cliche ridden masterpieces. The real issue here is that BioWare's endless recycling of rudimentary plots, coupled with the banality of Mr. Gaider's writing ultimately tends to be a tart and pathetic excuse for emotionally engaging stories- the entirety of BioWare's mission statement as makers of interactive media.

Please stop putting on airs. You clearly expect too much from video games, they can't replace novels. Bioware still creates the most engaging video game stories, especially through believable companions. I actually agree with your criticism of the directon of DA2's gameplay, but to assume that only fools play "hack n' slash" is just ignorant pride.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I do like the choice to make the races different. And Merrill is freaking adorable in my book.David Gaider wrote...
Her outfit is baggy in the front, so it simply looks that way (and it does, I see what you're seeing from that particular shot).
As for her looking tiny, I assume that's also the angle. She's not much smaller than an average human, to be honest. She is thin, though-- all elves have very slender body types (to go back to the art team's intention to give the races more distinct silhouettes).
'Course he's not the girl next door type, but she was speaking in general and they used Merrill as a backdrop. Doesn't necessarily mean she was only speaking about Merrill, though. She was thinking about what they did in making the game. It's just, I don't think anybody pointed to Merrill on a screen and said to Jennifer Hepler "talk about that." She was giving an interview. We don't know for sure what was in her mind when she was saying that. They've mentioned NPC romances, so it could just as easily be one of those she was thinking of at the same time. Merrill could have been the girl next door part, but might not necessarily be virginal, unless maybe she's kinda geeky. I don't think the virginal part has to be creepy, is all I mean here.Astoria wrote...
In regards to Fenris, I never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it it does make sense. If you can't remember doing the deed I suppose you would retain some sort of 'mental virginity.' I can't really see him being a 'girl-next-door' type of elf, though. Pretty sure they were referring to Merrill. Never the less, it should be interesting to see how it plays out, assuming he is even a 'LI.'
I agree though, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Precisely. I'm larger than that, but the very fact that I have to shop in specialty stores to get bras that fit only emphasizes the fact that most women are not endowed like that. And frankly, there's nothing wrong with small breasts--I know plenty of guys who prefer small breasts. One gave the reason of having small hands. Would be interesting to research how genetics affects body type preference, really...Anarya wrote...
The female objection to "double Ds for all" has nothing to do with jealousy.
Anyway, so there are guys who like a large bosom, but there are plenty who don't! I like the game world to make me feel like it takes those kinds of truths about humanity into account. Part of realism is variety, and there is a certain hip-to-breast ratio which only silicone can achieve. I'm not going to rag on Isabela because it might be her outfit making her look so big, and I like the fact that she's got a muscular body and sturdy frame and trunk which can actually support breasts that size--she doesn't have that creepily-small waist and limb thing going on which doesn't fit with her cup size, which happens in so many games. The breast size should always match the body type. I don't mind if they idealize their female LIs, but I do want them to keep realistic standards in mind--to stick to what can exist rather than pull a Barbie. A woman with large breasts is going to have hips large enough to support them and her arms won't be stick-skinny either; they'll either be toned or full:

I don't feel the slightest bit of jealousy at viewing large breasts. If anything, I feel a sense of camaraderie. But I do want two things:
1. A healthy dose of bodily realism for human women, at least.
2. A sense of variety.
Christina Hendricks is about as good as it gets in real life figure-wise, but even she gets accused of having implants whenever she wears a push-up bra (as she did with the purple dress, I believe.) So a little bit of subtlety when it comes to the average DA bosom would look more realistic than otherwise. It's not that no one should look like CH, just that not every woman should, and those that do have a rack that large would hopefully look like her body can support it. I would say that Isabela was pretty successful in that regard.
Hey, me too!! *high-fives* Cool, a gamer chick who knows my woes!Andrastee wrote...

Dude,
in real life I wear an F-cup. I certainly have no reason to be jealous
of the DA2 characters on that account. However, I think that every
female character in the world having an enormous rack is silly, and
that's what people are complaning about. Not to mention that it makes me
wince in sympathy when I think of the back and neck pain they are
probably suffering from.
I just hope that my female Hawkes can
have less ... spectacular ... proportions. Since this is my fantasy too,
I would like to roleplay free from the many downsides of having such
large endowments.
And yeah, people just don't seem to realize that there are downsides for some reason. As you mentioned, there's the back and neck pain, plus clothing is harder to find, bras are harder to find, it's annoying to run because sports bras don't work well and they go bouncing around which HURTS, when you're an adolescent the other girls HATE you and the guys stare if you wear anything that doesn't make you feel like a pilgrim... not to mention when we're 70 they'll be in our freaking laps, probably. And if you try to hug someone another woman of the same height with a large bosom it's sometimes hilariously awkward; fortunately most women are taller than me, but I have had those hugs where it's like, "Okay, if you put your left arm here, and I sort of hunch down a little, or maybe if we--aahh, screw it, let's just squish 'em together and move on." *lol* But at least that's funny rather than actually painful.
Yeah, I don't get the jealousy accusations though, and I wouldn't if I were an A-cup. How can a person be jealous of what doesn't exist? Rather, we'd all just like things to reflect reality, because eating disorders are all too common for women these days, and unrealistic depictions of femininity only make things worse.
