BTW calling someone an obsessive freak just says that you have no arguement. Also forum police? Authority? Uh...you might want to stay on track with the debate here I said no such thing. You're the one who opened that hole in your face and spewed a bunch of nonsense.

Go kick rocks troll.

If you had the literary comprehension to read the english language you could see exactly why I said what I said. Your pathetic emotional response to everything I've said reveals you to be the low IQ moron you are.

Go watch Anime freak.

Is there something wrong with Anime sir? Image IPB

..Just thought the same. Whats wrong with animes? There a really good ones..

Indeed, while I DO watch things like Bleach and Naruto...I am not that type of fan...the ones that give all fans a bad name. Aside from that this is a forum filled with geeks and or nerds. Surely he must realize the possibility of people on these forums watching/reading anime.

Besides, anime usually has unrealistic body proportions and large eyes for the females, which is not true in what we have seen so far for DA2. Of course this is just from my perspective but I like the way the game looks.

Weeell, I think Isabela has pretty unrealistic proportions and is such blatant fanservice that it takes away from the story.  I mean, Miranda was bad enough, but we're moving into pornstar territory.

I do think the faces are looking much better than earlier screens.  And I'm quite taken with the small architectural details.  For a medievalish urban environment, it looks a little sterile and baroque, but maybe some grit will be added in for the final.  The characters are still too cartoony looking for my taste, though.  Maybe I'll get used to it.

At least Miranda had an in-universe justification for being impossibly hawt, I guess.

Oh, and Isabela is not comparable to anime because anime chicks tend to have very narrow hips.

Actually I think Isabela is done better than Miranda. Miranda also was created as a test tube baby of sorts so of course she had the beyond perfect/realistic body because she wasn't born naturally.

Yeah, I really don't like the cartoony look other than it being less noisy than Origins. But it looks a little too clean at the same time.

On the topic of Isabela, does anyone else think that its Jennifer Hale who is voicing her. I don't know if it was announced but her voice in the new diary reminded me of Bastilla from KOTOR? Opinions? I doubt anyone from bioware would answer this question but I'm curious as to others think.

isabela's voice actress is unknown at the moment since this is her first time voicing for a bioware game, consider this role as her debut in bioware games;)
it's in the OP of the isabela thread i created along with the most relevant information about isabela released until now.

What is "reverse romance path"?

I know she's meant to appeal to men, but you can do that and not be so exaggerated about it.  DA has such good writing and sometimes I feel like the art department fails the writers.  This is one case, but also for example, the Architect had some nice creepy horror elements in The Calling, and then there is this JRPG fey we got in Awakening, with another villain that was so cartoonish and over-the-top that she wasn't creepy at all to me.  Likewise BioWare writes such good women characters, is it really necessary to make Isabela look trashier than even Miranda or the Witcher babes?

I personally, as a woman, don't see Isabela as trashy actually. Maybe my perception of my gender is different but why does a woman utilizing sex appeal always have to be placed under the trashy category? A woman can be smart, independent, very capable and STILL dress sexually. A woman has a right to choose how she dresses right? Sex appeal and being dumbed down are two totally different things.

That is the problem with our world society: there is a dichotomy between successful, independent women and their trashy, sexual equivalent. Just because Bioware writes good women characters doesn't mean they need to toss a towel over her and make sure she doesn't reveal any skin. A good female character, in my opinion, is one who is brave, independent, and capable while still retaining her sexual qualities.

I don't know, but I think a reverse romance path could be sex -> love (vs. love -> sex, obviously). So romance in the manner of Morrigan and Zevran, basically.

That may be so...but I personaly find it hard to respect a woman who walks around dressed like that. She may not be a ****...but shes wearing a ****'s uniform....so to speak. When I see women walking around dressed like that in RL I think to myself "wow she must have no self respect at all if she walks around in public dressed like that."  Again this is just my opinion of the subject...I would respect Isabella a lot more if she was actually wearing something other then a freakin thong from the waist down.

here's how I see it. Remember other romances in Bioware games? it usually works in a sort of pattern.

You meet your potential LI, you get to know them, you build connection, connection becomes flirting + sexual tension  and finally there is that one magical night

Isabela is going to work in a reverse way apparently

you will meet her and very soon after fireworks are going to ensue. From there it will be a matter of turning her into an actual love interest (if you want) as opposed to just being a ****buddy

Are you secretly a spy sent from Fox News? lol. Just playing you. This is a game so lighten up. Besides, I think Bioware intentionally exaggerates these characters' personalities. One it makes the storyline that much more interesting to explore. Two, Bioware likes exploring the more...extreme side of people. And I agree with them, they make the game more fulfilling because let's face it, we live in a world of prudes.

Trashy? Well, it was my knee-jerk reaction but then I realized that wasn't it.

I know plenty of people who *look* pretty darn smart who ended up anything but, so, could happen (and does!). :D I think if anything, people have an easier time going " oh sexy woman!" associated with an appearance than in trying to convey a sexiness that exudes from Isabella's manner, style, coercion skills ( of course! ) and personality through dialogue alone. No pants and ginormous breasts makes it easier. Did the art department fail the game as someone mentioned or did they just try to make it more sale-able sexy? Who knows. Plenty of women have huge breasts but usually they are self-conscious because of the way people treat them differently. Just because you get free drinks at the bar doesn't mean you think people actually care about you. The opposite usually. Appearance and reality sometimes do not play the same sides.

I don't think Isabella is *trashy*, for what it is worth. Obvious perhaps. And perhaps just a tad *too* obvious to not be suspicious (which would actually lower her success odds).

Personally, I will wait and see how they deal with her character. Maybe it will not be a simple stereotype and not fairly flat (no pun intended!) characterization and she will be an interesting character in the end. Won't be *too* long to find out! :)

in a previous Video Isabela suggests "sex" right after you accept to help her with Castillon

in the new video you have an encounter with her and she asks you in disbelief if you want to bring "feelings" into your "thing"

I'd say all hints point to a reverse romance

What is "reverse romance path"?

I know she's meant to appeal to men, but you can do that and not be so exaggerated about it.  DA has such good writing and sometimes I feel like the art department fails the writers.  This is one case, but also for example, the Architect had some nice creepy horror elements in The Calling, and then there is this JRPG fey we got in Awakening, with another villain that was so cartoonish and over-the-top that she wasn't creepy at all to me.  Likewise BioWare writes such good women characters, is it really necessary to make Isabela look trashier than even Miranda or the Witcher babes?

here's how I see it.

Is this being stated in the last video? I didn't understand well that part, but if the video didn't say how Isabela's romance will work, you are only suggesting how it works. Nobody has ever said that her romance will work in that way

It's not stated though it is implied that she's the more aggressive and open to the sex-love path. In my opinion, I think she fits the Zevran model more than Leliana. I just can't picture Isabela to care about an emotional relationship unless you as the PC convince her otherwise.
