[The Bard From Hell]

Oh crap, if Merrill is a LI, my Warrior will be just like his original version from PnP! (so okay, it was a half-fey witch, but she was still innocent, virginal-girl-next-door type.) Hawke's jacket looks awesome, and coupling this with the IGN article, my first playtrough will probably be female mage, for two reasons: one, I never played a decent mage in Origins, two, I get Carver as a party member. And he looks cool in these images.

Her in-game design looks much better than the CGI version.  She had a mannish face in the Destiny trailer.

I think it's all but offical that Anders is the final compainion...having just how finished Awakening I saw a Epilogue slide that all but confirms it.

Which rasies a big question for me. Anders is a Grey Warden, and we've seen Aveline in vaguely Wardenish Armor- are we going to have a pair of Wardens serving Hawke? Which certainly explains how Hawke gets so much **** DONE in ten years- he's got a two people from Thedas' biggest badass organization handling his to-do list.

Only problem with this is it is one of several epilogue slides.

My first slide indicated that Anders stayed with the Wardens for years.

I dun remember my second one, probably the smae.

And we know bioware doesnt approve of any 'cannon' endings, so it depends on your game whether he goes away with a certain female pirate or not.

Reminds me of how I thought CGI Morrigan was not at all attractive compared to DAO Morrigan, while on the flip side, CGI Leliana was way more attractive than DAO Leliana(although she was still very attractive).

There were too many complaints about the looks of all the love interests. (too short, too tall, eyes too big, breasts too bit, ugly, too good looking, bad hair) BioWare has decided that all love interests will look like the being in that screen shot.

I'm pretty sure Aveline joins the City Guard, not the Wardens....of course we won't know till it comes out.

Just to 2nd this a little bit.  Back when the unnofficial videos were being leaked from the demo, one of those gameplay vids showed Hawke in an armor similar to what Aveline was wearing in the Dev Diary vid.  The color was different, but, it had the same (or if it wasn't the same, it was nearly identical) emblem on it.  So while I'm not discounting the possibility, after seeing that, I'm less likely to think that Aveline ends up as a Warden after all.

(Edit: Yes I know if could have just been a placeholder and all and that things from that long ago are from such an old build, who knows what is going on now, esp. when you consider who comprised your party, though that could have been before certain events, but the point was that symbol was shown on someone else's armor too so it lends more credence that it may not be Warden specific, but as said, we'll know for sure when it comes out.)

Just a side note for the developers: The narrative they are using in DA2...Varric telling Cassandra what happened and such, has allready been used. Drakensang 2 uses almost the exact same narrative. Only the dwarf companion is telling the story to one of the companions from Drakensang 1. If you die in the game, the dwarf goes "ohh no, thats not what happened. What really happened was..." Then you get asked to reload the game etc.

I like... rather, I love the fact that not every female is a picture of idealistic beauty. Reminds me a bit of 24... Jack's love interests were always very "real" looking. It's hard to be impressed with a character model based on it looking like the idealized feminine form, but when you add character too it you can start imagining her as a real person. Much more immersive for the love interests to be "above average" (to put the objective in subjective terms) just for the sake of feeling like someone you may know.
