Wow, I never thought of it before, but it could be the case. It would be interesting to see a virgin (whether assumed or actual) who wasn't goofy and sweet like Alistair, but rather, tenacious and fierce with hesitance rather than nerves about being with somebody. ]
Okay, wow, I fail at quoting. My apologies. Anyway, as Wynne wrote (^^ see my fail up there) I think it could be Fenris. I mean, isn't he supposed to have an aversion to touching? That could easily make for a more interesting character interaction.

Also, I'd like to add to the thanks rightfully given to the Devs for being so gracious and benevolent as to grant us the boon of this new information. Your altruism is appreciated. :crying: I am moved to tears by your kindness. (Also, I'm so excited for this game, I think that I forgot to blink while watching the video...)

Didn't the video say virginal girl next door?...  Maybe there's something about Fenris they haven't told us:bandit:

yeah I don't think you can pull half a quote to make it sound good for your point, nowhere does it even imply fenris as being virginal but you quoted it, with out the girl next door. while the video has it right over a video of merril.

I eagerly await an actual introduction of Merrill, so people can see her from another angle and can just get the hell over this obsessive notion that she has giant breasts. She does not.

So is Hawke wearing a robe similar to Blood Promise?

1. Not ugly, just a different look, cute, mis. goes for that hollywood look. 2. The short girls at my school are the ones with big ******, so keep your feminine complaints to your self. 3. You complain about alot, yet not the fact that she's pale and Isabella's tan.

Oh.... Oops. Yeah, that would certainly be an interesting character interaction.  My apologies. I retract my earlier statement.

BTW. Having watched the Dev diary again, I wanted to give major kudos to Gaider who was very aware and careful about what he said, to the very moment of making a point that you could pick either a male or female hawke - without assuming that Hawke was male by default (Like some of the other Devs, as they explained the story).

That was mighty mighty gender neutrally tingling refreshing.

If you play a mage, you'll get 3 party members that are warriors; Carver, Aveline, and Fenris. I think that's a fair amount. I'll be playing a warrior Hawke however, so I'll only get to use 2 warrior companions. At least that's how it's going to be if your class decides whether you get Carver or Bethany. Not sure if it has been confirmed or not.

Well in the others dev's defence....there are a majority male's playing the game (or so i would think, may be wrong) and thus its "norm" to use the male perspective (especially for a male talking towards males).
Isnt it really a non matter ?

It was pretty fantastic as Vaughn in DA:O though, I thought so anyway, so will wait and see.  It is the more "neutral" quality to the voices that make it fall a bit flat, I think.   Of course, I am a fairly animated person, so that may be skewing my perspective slightly.  :P Still, he seemed better as Vaughn.  I say this *way* to often but:  We will have to see how it plays out when the game is actually *out* and we get to hear more. Small samplings are reflective but don't give us the full impact really.

I kind of picture Joker in ME2 when he is making fun of Legion behind his back with crossed eyes and robotic posturing when I hear more "neutral" voiceovers in general.  Of course, that is a gross exaggeration but it may be more flat on purpose so it can work for no matter what personality you make your own character without the inflection indicating something otherwise...  Everyone else is more "in character" of course, so it doesn't hurt the game really, and if you love a voiced protagonist, its a fair enough trade off.

I agree that in ME2 I always felt like Shepard, whether male or female, had a bit of a lackluster reaction to things even though it was voiced. However, I do appreciate the voice work because then I feel ten times more involved in the situation/conversation occurring.

But I agree with Shanti that I am also a very animated person and express myself with exaggerated emotions and expressions so...I might be a harsh critic when it comes to voice work. I still love Hawke's voice just hope it changes emotions a bit more noticeably.

Sorry for the interruption of the discussion.

I fear that Bethany / Carver goes against Hawke. Am I right there? :S

I hope not.

I can easily see them ripping off Obsidian's ideas, considering that every time Obsidian does a continuation of their (or Bethesda's) game, it has a more interesting plot and better written dialogues. Obsidian excels at story and narration (and fails at most other things) and BioWare can, at best, try to emulate their ways.

Highly debatable.
