Bethany and await friendly-to-bethany mods.

Yeah Im going to wait for a mod that lets me have bethany even tho im a mage

Mods can do many things but they have their limits, and honestly, they are rarely concerned with what is dramatically correct. So, you know, have fun and all, but don't blame us when massive things in your mage-mage runthrough don't make a hell of a lot of sense or more likely outright break. The game/story is not built to accomodate this.

Bunch of spoilsports, huh?Image IPB

Oh oh, a Dev. Tell us, will the choice of if you play Warrior/Rouge or Mage deside if Carver or Bethany survive? Please tell me that you can save them both and that it has to do with your ingame choices!:crying:

None? If I had to pick then it would be Bethany.

Well, that seems to imply you definitely can't have Carver and Bethany at the same time.

You know, I actually kind of like that because I'll definitely be playing through the game more than once.

Carver first. I want to light stuff on fire a LOT, and I fancy having a protective brother to be protective of right back.

Carver, all of the way. I'm tired of making morally good choices. GETS soooo boring.

What's so "bad" about Carver? He looks exactly like "this-boy-who-been-so-shy-since-mad-dog-bite-his-balls" type... Or, simply put, the village idiot. That said the village idiot has some exclusive rights...

Bethany is much easier on my eyes.

Shallow reasoning...probably.

Um...i meant that i find Carver appealing. And your right about your assumption of him. The quiet, shy ones are the ones to worry about.

Hmmm, trunky arm--- AHEM.

Y'now, for someone living in Lothering, Hawke and Carver have a quite... healthy body. And arms. Healthy, healthy arms.

So...what makes people think that Carver is a bad guy? I haven't seen anything that would indicate that. If that's not the case, and I want someone in the party my PC gets along with, then I'd say Carver. If he's in strong disagreement with my PC, and that's interesting, which would probably be the case, then I'd say Carver. But that will rarely be the case, most likely, as I prefer to play a warrior. I might feel differently when Bethany changes her clothes.

Frankly, I can see Bethany being the bad guy (or gal). I mean, everytime I look at her I see a sly fox full of potential and evil. Also, she can shoot fireballs from her boobs, that make things easier.

Besides not really knowing *how* either sibling effects the overall story I would still say Bethany. For me, the choice would be for the sake of immersion and having a closer connection to my Hawke as in the Real World I have several sisters and no brothers, as such I'm simply more comfortable with the idea of my in-game sibling being female.

However, as it is my intention to play a Mage and likely nothing else as I am not a fan of sword and board/stab stab PCs when a Magic user is an option, it would seem I will have no choice but to deal with Carver until I can deposit him in Kirkwall and be on my merry way with my true adventuring party. Despite not having Bethany thanks to my class I know David, Sheyrl, Luke, etc will provide an amazing narrative and incredible Romance options, so it won't be all bad.

carver, i would always pick over Bethany. He just seems like alot better for a choice, to me. I dont like trouble makers in my party. Which is why i never had Morrigan in my party, EVER

I insist that the player is the final arbiter of what is dramatically correct.

And I'll do whatever I can to make the game accommodate the maximum number of mages.

My dreams of apostate sisters running around being all awesome and magely have been crushed. I was really looking forward to that. :( I've always wanted a sister. Perhaps I'll play a rogue or a warrior for my first playthrough instead of a mage.

I suspect in this unlikely and unfortunate hypothetical dilema, I would always save my sister ahead of my brother...and I would expect my brother to do the same with the roles reversed.

Would you also insist that the writers deviate from the story they want to tell to give more options to the player? As in, beyond what they wanted to leave in the player's hands?

Well I plan on multiple playthroughs, at least one where Carver is saved and another where Bethany is saved, so the whole class and forced outcome dilemma is no biggie to me.

If I had only one playthrough, I'd probably go with Bethany based on what I know now, she seems like a compelling and even sly like another poster stated. Plus I do tend to favor females over males in terms of compassion and who I'd rather survive (as a male).

I'm planning a male mage Hawke just to see a brother rivalry with Carver, and a female warrior to have a sister-sister conflict with Bethany (just wait till she joins the Templars, catfight!).

I would expect the same thing! If i were a man, i would do so. Even as a women, i would do so.

On the one hand, as the youngest of five kids I can't imagine having to sacrifice one of my siblings.
