Yeah apparently warriors can get some mage spells though so Ive heard even though its not as good as being a full fledged mage its still something cool to have

I can be bothered. including the posts before mine (and after yours) there are 69 votes for Bethany and 49 for Carver. that means 58.5% said Bethany and 41.5% liked Carver.

also when someone said "I like Carver, but since I like Mages, I'll get Bethany" I counted that as a voate for Carver not Bethany (and vise verse). I also didn't count the ones that were simply based on class like "I like mages, so Carver" since that's no indication of a character's popularity.

Hmm Yeah I knew Bethany would have more, didn't know the difference would be so little though. I expected it to be more like 20% Carver 80% Bethany

I'm going with Carver. He looks like he'll be fun. I'm getting a slight Simon Tam vibe from him (y'know, the worrywart brother), maybe that's why I like him so much already. Plus he's adorable.



Due to the fact that I always play a female, I've had lots of PCs with sister types, because the 'canon' or heavily advertised LIs (Dawn Star, Bastila, both girls in DA:O) always have a ton of dialogue regardless of gender. There's plenty of moments of what I'd consider sisterly affection.



So yeah, Carver for me was an obvious choice, because it'll be something new.

Now THAT must be the reason why Bioware has told us so little of Hawke's siblings, think of the fan reaction when they discover Bethany takes a bite out of a muffin and then casts a spell to cover it up, the sheer horror! (Clarification: 'tis a joke)
Back on topic, I would go with Bethany because I would like to experience a brother-sister relationship (cause I don't have any sisters, only bros)

Cant find anything on imdb.. They only have 4 voice actors there though so they seem to be just a tad unreliable atm. They dont even have Steve Valentine who has been confirmed to return

Carver, I feel compelled to have a brother who may become jealous of Male Hawke's "romantic conquests". *Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge*. A brother to look to you for guidance and perhaps consistently grapple with the fact you're more important would be...interesting.



Competition amongst brothers is something I've always been fascinated with. Couldn't really relate, having only had a sister. That...and it didn't help that for most of my early childhood my mother and grandmother blamed me for all my own sister's short comings.

None. As they are my siblings, I will not endanger them with my adventure nor do I wish to see any of them get killed by the darkspawns. I would prefer to have romanceable companions along my side to get to know them better either through direct conversation or party banter. However, if they don't talk at all during any missions as in Mass Effect 2, then I have little use for them. They might be better off as my bodyguards than be my companions.
