How come it's the dwarven women's fault? The only race in Thedas (that we know off) that are at risk are the Dwarves because of the low Fertility rate of Dwarven Women.
I like to know as well.

Arron is seven-years old. At night, he sleeps on a thin mat with no blanket. His mother works two jobs and often has to leave him alone for most of the day. He can't read and knows no verses from the Chant of Light.
Most days he only gets one meal. Some days he doesn't eat at all.
But you can help. For only three pennies a day, you can help the Brothers and Sisters of the Chantry Arron gets the food and spiritual education he needs.

Dave, this has been covered at length. Elves are not dying out.
They are struggling, their lifespans are shortening if you want to believe the Dalish and they are constantly killed and raped by the humans in the city. A humanxelf couple would be helping in the destruction of the elves because that would mean another elf is "lost" to the humans, a dalish elf (Marrill) would understand that more than anybody.
... and the "few in number" thing isn't something that should be brushed aside like nothing. There is a problem, if Merrill wants an elven child and you refuse her because it's your "right" to have a child with her... then... yeah. The only race in Thedas (that we know off) that are at risk are the Dwarves because of the low Fertility rate of Dwarven Women.

How is this any different then with Zevran or Fenris?
Wardens might be very close to infertile but Zevran isn't. That people only seem to care when it's a female elf makes no sense to me.

I'd rather train her as a healer. I'm not really interested in putting any mage Hawke in that position, and Bethany doesn't seem the type anyways. Besides, with that cute little kitten face of hers, I have a hard time picturing her zapping people left and right, never mind blood magic.

Check the first page or first few pages. I know someone will have posted it. Or Maria might have it linked somewhere. Sorry. In anycase, I need to finally get my backside to work. G'Night Merrill Thread.

Can't answer to the long post, busy at the moment.
The reason it's different with Zevran and Fenris is because we're talking about Merrill, the Dalish Elf, wanting an elven child herself and you refusing her. I doubt Zev and Fen care about that much.

It seems like that requires multiple assumptions about characters we know little about (almost to a ridiculous level).
