I always thought they had the DragonAge equivalent of DnDs 'Bag of Tricks'. Whereupon the Ranger goes into the bag, pulls out the rather small, weatherbeaten (and malnourished) bear and forced said animal to fight for it's own selfish needs.

Although, now that I think about it, Merrill is kinda small: I wonder if she could fit into a bag?

I'm curious about whether or not she can carry such a bag, with her size.

Hawke could carry it, and summon Merrill into battle to kill the enemy with cuteness.

...like a slightly less jaundiced Pikachu, or a second rate Jiggilypuff.

She'd be super effective in a situation like that.

Merrill would carry the cuteness of a Wigglytuff.

Both are full of massive win. Especially the name.

If you use the Summon Persists mod, it is pretty much like that.  Your pet is unkillable, you just have to make sure you set up the tactics as you want on the first go.

The joys of Overwhelm.

How is it that I only find out about this mod until my sixth effin' playthrough?!?

:pinched::pinched::pinched:

Ahem, the joys of overwhelm indeed. :wizard:

Now combine that with Merrill. And you have an overwhelm of cute.

Indeed. :wizard:

If summoning was still in, Merrill would only be able to summon cute things.

Hawke: Rock Wraith! Merrill! Summon something to help us out here!

(Merrill raises her staff and summons a swarm of nugs)

Varric: Well at least we won't die hungry.

I keep getting these images of a gremlin you carry around on your back.

That thing on Merril's back? Not a staff.

It's a giant blunt.

It's actually a digeridoo. Merrill has such an adorably perky Australian accent.

Wait, Australian? I thought Dalish elves were going to have Welsch accents now. Sorry if someone else has mentioned that, though.

He was kidding.

That's an easy fix, just hand the Jigglypuff Merrill a moon stone and watch it evolve. Charles Darwin you mad genius you!

I'm starting to think Merrill is going to be a mage version of Leliana. She can be reluctant to go into battle and have adorable things to say during and after fights.

Here's hoping.

*twitches*

I prefer the image of bloodthirsty gremlin, thanks.

Of course after her reluctance to go into battle she'd be more than happy to summon a demon to rip an enemy's head off and then say. "Yay it looks like a fountain."

As your attorney, I advise you to rent a very fast car with no top. And you'll need the cocaine. Tape recorder for special music. Acapulco shirts. Get the hell out of Kirkwall for at least 48 hours. Blows my weekend.

I have to correct myself and say, your pet can die in battle, but won't die across area transitions and cutscenes.  And that's enough of my hijack.

I think its safe to say that Merrill is cute enough, and powerful enough, that she doesn't need any pets to make short work of the bad guys!

No. She hasn't even been confirmed as a companion yet.

Shouldnt be a problem for the modder. Posted Image

Well she is a Dalish elf, but first of all a female. Beefcake Hawke will use his "magical skills" to do what must be done. No woman in Thedas could resist. Posted Image

I think thats exactly why we should STOP HERE...  It was a fun subject while it lasted.

Resurrecting it and trying to outsmart the previous poster within a "controversial" and off-topic theme is what got the first Varric thread in trouble and lockdown.

I know its hard, having so little information at hand... but smbdy should come up with an interesting  subjet to talk about our little cute Elf... :)

I would if I could, but I'm  beat and nothing comes to mind.

So, apparently a foreign gaming mag has confirmed that Merrill is a "Dalish Pariah", aka a blood mage. You guys were right.
