I think that this quote refer to how short were DAO elves.  I think that DA2 elves are shorter than humans but not so much as it were in Origins. Perhaps male as high as human female-and this is o.k.

I don't think she's going to be an abomination. Morrigan knows some blood magic(DR) but wasn't an abomination. She will be probably exiled by Marethari for being a bloodmage, not abomination. EI, howewer, hope that she isn't exiled, or that we can make her return to the dalish in one of her side-quest.

Now that reminds me of Tali.  You know, her trial with the admirals of the flotilla, Shepherd defending her successfully or unsuccessfully, and so on...

Not that it wouldn't be a good sidequest, though. Assuming Merrill has a enduring wish to be reunited with her clan, a sympathetic Hawke would be inclined to help her. Going off on that... if Hawke is trying to romance Merrill, he might have to choose between making her happy (by getting her reunited with the clan) and keeping her by his side (because it seems to me Hawke would have a very poor chance of being with her if she officially becomes Keeper and needs to continue preserving Elven culture and whatnot).

Well didn't Gaider say that the 'virginal girl-next-door' isn't necessarily Merrill?

But true, it is difficult to figure who else it might be if not her. I doubt there are any more female companions to reveal, unless this other girl is an LI who doesn't ever join the party?

The possibility that Merrill will be exiled by the Dalish leave me some worries. They don't train more than ore mage at time, so if Merrill will be exiled, the dalish will have to start over on training some mage apprenticies. This will leave the clan in danger, if Marethari suddenly die (she was quite old in Origins). I believe that the dalish are vvery careful in the matter of exile, especially in regards of their mages. And I don't think that simply because Merrill knows blood magic, they exile her. She has to do something very awful to them.

Well didn't Gaider say that the 'virginal girl-next-door' isn't necessarily Merrill?

But true, it is difficult to figure who else it might be if not her. I doubt there are any more female companions to reveal, unless this other girl is an LI who doesn't ever join the party?

The devs have mentioned how some LIs are apart of the party and some are not apart of the party...so maybe he is speaking of someone who never joins the party( the best example of this I can think of is Anora in Origins, though only a Human Noble Male could be with her...).

heh, Gaider was just fooling. She is "virginal girl next door" . I mean why would they not talk about a specific scene being at a specific moment of the video, if they did that the whole video ? When they were speaking about romances etc we saw a clip of isabela and Hawke. And so on.

Well, this info mostly confirms what we were speculating about, I'm pretty sure now FemHawke was talking to Merrill in that screenshot but at the same time I don't think Merrill will get exiled because she is a blood mage, it's seems a little odd for me... the dalish of all people should know the powers of blood magic, if controlled right of course...

It's not like Mr. Gaider hasn't said things to try and throw us off track before.

That, and they haven't officially confirmed Merrill as a companion yet, so they would hardly confirm her as a LI before that.

Plus, is probably some kind of blood magic linked with the elven magic. The same preview that for first talked about specializiation tree, said that it will be a mix of keeper and blood magic.
