I can't believe no one figured it out, it's obvious Bioware is rewarding its fans with a foot fetish, Merrill's romance scene is gonna be hot feet sex.
The other screenshots in the mag:
Click on them to see in higher detail, also let's keep this thread about Merrill, if anyone wants to discuss these screenshots you're welcome to post them in a new thread (sorry ankuu for taking so long)
Maybe that's a way we can get rid of "Anders", Merrill "accidentally" turns him into ash.ViSeirA wrote...
Haha you're welcome, but keep Anders away from Merrill or they'll fight over who has the bigger fireball
You do realise, as soon as someone from BioWare's art department sees that they're going to spend the rest of the day watching it instead of working right?ViSeirA wrote...

Considering what might get squished between your toes on the streets of a medieval(ish) city, you might want to rethink that.ViSeirA wrote...

Well, a triviality can still be ridiculous, and I have to agree with yukidama that this would appear to qualify. If this sort of design decision is a consequence of a singular companion outfit than I would score one for the opposition (Companion specific clothing is fine by me, but the idea that the choice was between complete variation and a single outfit always struck me as an obviously false dichotomy. Design multiple outfits per character (I'm aware that it was in all likelihood a resource decision, especially as it pertains to cinematics, but that was not the reasoning put forward)). By placing the onus for clothing selection on the developers, the implementations put forth would seem to be more fairly open to criticism.

Or people could get over the notion that they need to choose their companion's outfits in addition to their own. Really, I just think people like to obsess. The fact that you could change companion outfits in DAO didn't stop anyone from nit-picking over their appearance or whipping up alternate appearance mods to suit.

True. For things such as that there's always TexMod (assuming it works with DA2).David Gaider wrote...
Traditionally, people don't need help from us in order to make mods. Though it certainly helps.

To be fair, I never said need I merely saw an opportunity within the current discussion to state (yes,) a preference for some degree of customization in that regard. Also, I wanted to raise the point that there existed a compromise solution if Bioware chose to pursue it. I haven't followed that debate particularly closely, but what I've seen seemed to somehow overlook that possibility.David Gaider wrote...

I don't mind the shoeless elves. Although it will be nice if someone of the art development team explain why they don't like elves with shoes.
