When I play as a female Hawke, I would love to see Fenris and Merrill get together. Or, have some sort of relationship with one another, even if it isn't romantic.

But, given BioWare's track record for NPC-NPC romances, I don't see it as likely. Still would be welcome, though.

As for the Dalish, I don't think they are unified as a whole. DAO appeared to suggest that the Dalish lived in disparate clans, each governed by their own Keepers.

I am! I love elven romances but only in pure, elf+elf combination. If there will be an opportunity I will sure as hell try to lure those two together.

All seriousness aside, though, we have little idea about the romance options. Granted, BioWare is not likely to leave such a cute character un-romance-able, but who knows.

As long as Merrill is an LI and doesn't fancy Varric in any way, shape or form, I'm happy. Not that I have anything against Varric, I just shudder to think what they'd do if they got the chance.

Yeah, it is not that hard to do romances and people like them. There is less heat in the forums if they make Merrill romanceable and more happy customers. It means profit in cash, which every company tries to do else hard to get butter and bread for new projects.

I myself can't at the moment though imagine beginning to romance anyone of those. I hope it stays this way so I can answer whatever in dialogues and lol. So possibly trying to do a celibacy playthrough. I just doubt I can. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Sorry for my ignorance, but we know that the Dalish now have Welsh accents; what exactly does a Welsh accent sound like? Can anyone point me toward some clips? (I'm American and can't differentiate between British accents to save my life, so saying "it sounds like this one or that one" doesn't help, sadly).

On the same note, do we have any idea who her voice actor may be?

This isn't a great example, of a female Welsh accent, but it might help you get an idea. Though it sounds somewhat English.

Erin Matthews is not returning. Merrill is getting a new voice actress.

An example would be the end of Mass Effect 2. It seems that the person you romanced would definitely stick around with you (Tali especially, me thinks.) unless in the next game the developers pull something fast and has them die off near the start. XD

Seeing as how there is a high probability of there being a new PC for DA3, I doubt it.

Ah... Thedas... So many PCs, so very little time.

If the writers were honest about her cuteness, she'll just be adorable as she walks her way into another major role for the third installment. Unless it also take place ten years during and after the Blight's end. Then we'll need to find another Dalish female elf to fill that massive void this thread has produced.

And if she lives through DAII.



Speaking of which, would people want to see a returning Dalish woman
from previous titles or a brand new one like Velanna in Awakening?

Totally can't wait to get more info on Merrill. She looks like the coolest companion so far by a mile. I'm loving her design she is so cute and to me she looks around the age of 21. Some people say she looks about 16 but I don't see it. Definitely hope she is a LI. She looks so sweet and innocent but I guarantee she will kick some major a**. She and my mage Hawk are gonna be toastin fools.

From watching that second video, it sounds like Merrill'll () go great with a Welsh accent. I do hope we get a suitable voice actor for Merrill. Appearance and personality need the right voice to match.

I'm replaying BG2, and returning to this thread, I'm getting Aerie vibes from her in terms of personality.

Great. Now when I play DA2 I'm just going to keep hearing, every time Merrill speaks, her saying, "Hawke, my wiiiinnnnnngs! My winnnnnnnnnngs." And stuff about gnomes and circuses, and raccoons.




















My first playthrough is going to be like traversing the Fifth Circle of Hell.

Ugh. While I do hope that Merrill shares some similarities with Tali, I hope she is radically different in certain ways, compared with Tali. Combine Tali's sweetness, the child-like demeanor that Liara had in ME1, and some traits unique to Merrill, and we would have quite a character on our hands...
