Her personal spec is apparently 'dalish pariah' which is some sort of blood mage spec...though I plan to give her spriit spells like mana clash and crushing prison along with earth n lightning type spells!

:wizard::devil:

Well, if your Hawke is a mage( or if not they will be chasing your younger sister Bethany)... apparently the chantry might be chasing him as well...as an apostate anyway.

Merrill *can* use blood magic to convince you she doesn't use blood magic. Then you can say you didn't know when the templars come knocking.

I think i would rather help her beat the sod out of them. ;)

Would probadly endear Hawke to Merrill even more as someone she can trust and confide in... to help her and possibly fall for....<3

Yeah, last time I checked, it's a tad bit hard to turn someone in for being something "bad" they had no choice of being by birth. I think Religious Hawke is going to need to start missing the daily chants a couple times and become a little more practical.

And I'm talking about Merrill and her cuteness! How can something that adorable be so enslaving, silent, and cruel?!

(Wait! We have a mage sister? This is news! Someone update the wiki! Heh.)

Something I just whipped up in the last ten minutes:

Mushrooms were Merrill's passion. She would go out into the wilderness beyond Kirkwall to examine and pick them. Some of the mushrooms were edible, so she reserved those for her soups. Some of the mushrooms were poisonous, so she reserved those for potion-making.

One day, while out picking mushrooms, Merrill heard a slight rustle, resonating somewhere from the treetops overhead. She looked upward, scanning the treetops above for signs of movement. Unable to detect anything out of the ordinary, she returned to picking mushrooms growing by the base of the tree before her.

Then, without warning, she felt a finger jab at her side.

“Aaahhhhhh!” The petrified elf dropped her mushroom-laden basket. Mushrooms were rolling in all directions in the forest around her. She turned around, to see Fenris gazing at her. She gasped and shielded her face with her arms.

“Hello, Merrill,” the silver-haired elf said.

“How- but- why,” Merrill stuttered, lowering her arms. “Where did you come from?”

“I can jump off treetops onto the ground without making a single sound,” Fenris replied, smiling slightly. He paused. “Hmm. That rhymes.”

Merrill clutched her chest, heaving. “You could have said hi...” she said in a small voice.

“If I were darkspawn, you would have already been dead. Your reaction time is a bit on the slow side,” Fenris said, motioning to Merrill's staff, which lay many meters away.

“Very well,” Merrill said, coughing slightly. “I'll keep that in mind next time. Thank you.”

“You should. See you back in town.” And so Fenris walked away, leaving an awestruck Merrill to recollect the bundles of mushrooms which she had dropped so carelessly in her fright.

I really, and I mean really hope the bioware writers do not give Merril a personality that pathetic and helpless.

Nope. I'm a spirit that currently inhabits a PC via Veil-crossing accident. This world is a lot more 'colorful' than I imagined. And more noisy.^_^

You know... I'm almost tempted to make a Dalish Warden play through be my first file transfer in DA2 just so I can see what kind of reactions I'd get out of Merill.

It would be interesting to have that option. (Not that I ever would do it in a serious run through)

I also don't mind the default male Hawke but I would like to see how Bethany's , Carver's and Leandra's looks will look if I choose a different preset.
