Well, they certainly do love to drag info out on this game...because if you look at the official site...they are mentioning little things there ( like the release the prima strategy guide being available for preorder[ no way in hell I'm getting it because of how much ME 2's guide SUCKED!] )....but NOT ANYTHING really important....

It's weird because they were doing one companion reveal per month, and then we got nothing for january.

That's my point... it was because of the way that site was done that I found out about the community...so you know I had to be on there all the time checking stuff out. I was hoping for a new character...maybe some more monster...and another video(gameplay) reveil...but basically after about 1/11...they effectively started just dropping the little tiny releases of things...

@ Tiax... mine 2 with Isabela( my rogue for chest unlocks) and Bethany( most likely the healer mage). I will be badassing it as a 2-hander...

I want moar info on her though! Of all the companions she is by far the most interesting to me, but the least amount of information has been released on her, aside from the screenshots.

She doesn't have her reveal yet...with her reveal she will be even with all the released companions...leaving only the 'badass in the trench coat' left to be revealed( REFUSES to call him 'Anders' til her is revealed as such)...

The flame animation is nice...but of the other pics shown in that article...the lightning animation being done by Bethany is ridicously BADASS!

I could care less about the 'stuff' going on around here lately... I'm just happy to see some kind of updates...whenever they come...NOW, thank god this is NOT what DA:O was apparently was( but that game WAS pulled back 6 months, so I can understand) but still... the way information is coming now... I think is disconserting but I'm not gonna let it get me down. We have what... 33 days left until release here in the US anyway, so as far as I'm concerned this is the stretch run. I went through some of the same type of things last year when FF 13, God of War 3, Resonance of fate, and DA:A released within a week of each other. This is really no big deal for me in anyway shape or form...

Hey anyone noticed that both velanna and merrill use fire spells? I wonder if merrills known spells will be like velannas in awakening? Ie fire earth hex and death magics (primal and entropy).

Well, I'm gonna hope for the best with Friday. That's usually when we get character reveals and a few people have 'hunches'  for a possible new dev diary or something tommorrow. I'm gonna play the wait n see for now...it's what I have been doing since I joined the community and it seems to work well for me...but I still believe the character/companion reveal for Merrill will come soon enough. 

@ mageguy... if that is the case then I will have to use a different type of style setup method for her... maybe instead of lightning n earth spells( which it appears from the shots is where Bethany is focused) ... I will go for fire n ice element with Merrill...

Yea that would be my guess as well,  along with the blood magic that has already been confirmed. That goes perfectly with my mage, as he is gonna be specializing in ice, spirit, and healing magic.

Im still stuck on my hawke. Though he's definitely having all the earth spells. Im hoping petrify gets an upgrade to make it like shales earthen grasp. That would be awesome.

That sounds like a good idea, having both mages focus on two different primal spell sets (or whatever they will be). I will likely do the same with Bethany and Merrill, assuming they start with different primal spells. I just hope that if Anders is a companion, that he retains his default ice spells. In which case I will not allow Merrill to use ice. She will then get hex spells, and maybe paralyze spells, from the Entropy school. Unless they start with the same spells (excluding Heal) none of my mages will have the same spells, although, they'd have to be pretty good ones for my mage Hawke (second game) to use them as well.

Indeed it is. Merrill reminds me of a very cute elven version of Yoda with the awesome outfit and crazy magic powers.

I do that in DAO. If I'm playing a warrior or rogue in DAO, Wynne gets Fire and Earth, Morrigan gets Cold and Lightning. Wynne gets healing, Morrigan gets CC.



Hopefully the specs (Pariah/whatever "Anders" and Bethany get) are sufficiently varied too.
