A.) There is no such thing as a generic Talimancer. You cannot define the kind of person that definies Talimancers. They cannot be defined for easy reference in the manner of: "the elves are a lithe, pointy-eared people who excel at poverty" regardless of if their character in a video game romances Kaidan or Tali.

"Oh god here comes the Talimancers" might as well be trolling, or at least stupidity. If you're going to act hostile to any fans of Merrill for such baseless reasons, you should just stop reading the thread or posting in it entirely.


B.) What makes you think that something as superficial as Merrill being a blood mage or not effect the average fan of Tali in any way? I would hazard a guess that a majority of fans labeled in such a way do not see the world in sunshine, bunnies and flowers that would be terribly offended if the contrary was presented in any fictional characters.

C.) Merrill has far more in common with Tali then you seem to be comfortable with. If that makes you feel insecure or uncomfortable, that might provide further reason for you to stop hanging around here so much.


Alternatively, you could stop being a discriminatory ******.

Uh, okay let's just stop it right there, because if a flame war starts between Tali and Merrill fans it won't be a welcome sight, as I said Merrill is her own character, she isn't Tali, she doesn't have her personality and she most certainly doesn't need to be in anyway compared to her, so let's keep this thread about Merrill.

We don't really know how much she has in common with anyone and anyway this is a really subjective way of analyzing a character.  You also don't really know anything about what I am comfortable with.  One thing I'm not comfortable with is reading the Tali thread, it makes me afraid for my inner child.

Except that I'm a Merrill fan as well, as is Relinquished. Being a fan of Tali cannot, should not and WILL NOT be something that is unpermitted here, as if to be some kind of taboo. No one that's even a decent human being should stand for it, either.

On the other hand, I agree. Merrill isn't going to be a carbon copy of Tali, Liara, OR Hermione (or what have you ) and such comparisons are mostly unnecessary with such little information known about Merrill. I'm positive she will have a personality unique to any of these characters, and a fantastic one at that with a writer like Mary Kirby at the helm.

1.The Definition of a talimancer is basically someone who is obsessed with tali. And if you're trying to be technical in that you can not describe traits then you might as well take out that bottom remark of "Discriminatory ******"
And no one is being hostile, and not to merril fans even. It's to tali fans

2. Because Talimancers are obsessed with tali and want DA2 to have Elf tali

3.Merril has nothing in common with tali as far as we know. I'm guessing that's why he's hanging around here

1.) I've only seen one person on this forum that would fit such a description. And he isn't even around anymore.

2.) That's not true. There's no evidence to lead to that conclusion at all, especially that such a stance would be held by some large conglomerate group of people.

3.) Fair enough. I think that third point was me being a little childish and trying for a personal attack.

It would also be hypocritical for me to say that you should leave for not liking people that like Tali, right after I say you shouldn't do something fairly similar.

But I say this; don't be rude to fans of Merrill that come to this thread, Talimancer or not. Certainly don't call anyone a freak, or that you wish that the thread would be rid of them.

I was wondering, Merrill will have a Welsh accent now, won't she? I'm sure I read a read ages ago where the devs said that the Dalish have Welsh voices now. That will be interesting, if her appearance, personality and voice seem altered from Origins.

Yes, Merrill will most likely have a Welsh accent like the rest of the Dalish Elves. In fact one of the developers stated that on their list of voice actors they wanted, Merrill's was one of the ones they got their first pick to sign on for.

Then again, one of the developers said she has an Australlian accent, and the staff on her back is actually a Didgeridoo. Take that for what you will...

1.Oh you weren't around Tali was mentioned in 90% of threads.
2. isn't that exactly what that guy asking for Merril to be like Tali said? 
3.I applaud you for admitting fault, that's very rare and mature of you.
But i never called any one a freak. I try to avoid as many personal attack as possible. I simply QFT'ed other poster's comment on not wanting Merril to be like tali.

Can someone find a example of welsh accent for me? i have no idea what welsh sounds like.
