Yeah she's the female face of DA2, like it or not. Can't hold a candle to Morrigan.MasterSamson88 wrote...
Basically I mention Isabella only because she's shown making out with hawke in about every trailer. XD Which bugs me a little cause I'm not the biggest fan of her.
But, the other LIs are all on the down-low, too. I'm kind of glad because some of the Isabela romance has already been spoiled by those shots.

Good to see Merrill coming back. I'm also happy she's about a million times better looking than she was in DA1
I agree with this. I think she looks great in this game.

My biggest issue with certain female characters in Origins was that a lot of them had a make up disaster on their faces. Purple lipstick and all kinds of disastrous looking eyeshadow.
They seem to have cleaned Merrill up quite a bit so she looks very nice. People have been mentioning her redesign, and I can see that, and I do like it, but I was wondering if someone could fill me in on how exactly the Elven characters have been resigned. Are they even smaller or something? Bigger ears? I really can't see the huge difference other than the fact that they all look slimmer with less broad shoulders. Between Origins and II I mean.

I think it's better this...makes the rest alot more fun to discover and figure out how they work(whether you do it from a friendship or rivalry standpoint)...so, Isabella maybe the face...but Merrill( and most likely Fenris) are the REAL stars of this show(game).

The concept art for the races should make a few things obvious (though it is not entirely accurate).MasterSamson88 wrote...

But basically from what we know: Ever so slightly smaller than humans, they are thinner and have more pronounced ears.
Oh, and they don't wear shoes.

I don't know why I liked that about Merrill when I saw those screenshots. It was cute or something, I don't know, unique, kind of cool?

Slimmer, taller, larger eyes. The nose ridge seems to be less pronounced although we didn't see enough elves to tell if that's individual trait or race-wide change. Ears may be not pointing as much up, although same note applies.MasterSamson88 wrote...

I don't mind it, but some people have a real thing about it (there was a discussion in this topic a while back).MasterSamson88 wrote...

Apparently the Art department just have a thing against elves wearing shoes.

I don't know but I'll say I like it, at least on Merrill. Somehow I find it suiting.

Yeah its probably just as well they dont show us any other LI's. I think the Isabella stuff in the ads is mostly to advertise the fact that LI's are still around.

The outfit Merrill wears in the game that you've already seen, was built from another concept. Early on it was cut from the game due to technical issues. Its original incarnation did not fit her own personality or VO either (The concept was a tad risqué). Thus this newer costume concept was drawn up to replace it.
....But we liked her original outfit enough that we spent the extra time to make the necessary revisions mixing both worlds and pushed it in the game
I have to say that I appreciate the effort. While I can't say I'm terribly thrilled by the concept art on her page, the costume she sports in the screenshots we've seen is easily my favorite bit of clothing design I've seen from the DA universe (beating out my old favorite, Leliana's concept art).

I would like to find out how they are going to explain if you import a dalish grey warden save (like my main warden in my picture is) why your clan (which merrill was the first of and now keeper) did not settle in the new land granted the dalish because of your wardens actions. That will be intresting.
You'll probably recruit Merrill before the end of the events in DA:O occur.

From what I read on hands on previews if you don't recruit her in lothering then it is 1 year later (after the archdemon is dead) trying to find the preview that said that again

They probably didn't get the memo. Or got besieged by evil monsters. Or found some elven artifacts/ruins. I thought it was mentioned that the clan was near Sundermount? and thats where that one map said there were ancient elves haunting some place.

yes but the clan was near denirim for the finale (as the lady that raised you was there) like I said will be intresting to see how they explain it lol
I might have to talk to her again just to see what she says because I remember she said the clan was afraid to come in to town but the keeper will be excited for what you did for the clans so it will be intresting lol (I love the dalish)
