I really liked Amy Acker in Angel, but if we can get an actress with an authentic accent then it's better, and from what David said about her VA I say we did get a perfect actress.

I actually asked that question during the chat but my Q never got chosen.  I think my exact words were "Can you show Merrill in game?  We know you want to."

When we saw the selection screen with her on it I half expected him to switch his party up and select her. Oh well.

Now my worries of Merrill not being a full fledged companion are gone =) And now that Aveline isn't a LI it all but assures that she will be a LI in the game because I seriously doubt Isabella would be the only option.

Me too, I was like come on switch your party and pick her! But alas, it was not to be.

So what did people think of the glimpse of Merrill in the team picker? I found her... awfully thin. Like, anorexic looking. Maybe it was just the angle or something.

I think that we don't have to follow a single street to recruit companions, but that we can choose when we want to recruit them. Maybe only Varric is "forced" when we enter the city.

My thoughts exactly, Hawke will beign by working for Varric I guess, we see him giving Hawke a pouch of money in one vid, and he's the narrator so it's safe to say he's with us no matter what, so is Aveline as well... the others, we'll just have to wait and see OR alternatively we can bombard Mike with questions about that today in the live chat.

Apparently, you don't actually have to recruit Varric at all. Can't remember where I saw/heard it, pretty sure it was Gaider in a post, said that if you don't take Varric, he makes assumptions, and gathers infomation that everyone knows about Hawke, when he tells Cassandra of the story of the Champion of Kirkwall. Don't quote me on this (figuratively speaking) because I'm not 100% sure.

Personally, I will take Varric whatever kind of character I play. I mean, it's Varric! He's no Merrill, but still he's great.

It's the angle I think, I posted a screenshot a while back that captures her frame pretty good.



That's not too thin if you ask me, at least not the anorexic thin you're talking about
