No, she just sees a statue or something that has a demon bound to it. Probably like that Tevinter statue in the mage origin.

Oh man this is even better than more screenshots or a voice reveal in my opinion. We get to know more about Merrill!!!

This was great. I don't know if it's the reason for her leaving her clan, but I think it's pretty clear she is tempted by the knowledge the demon promises. It's probably the same demon she summons when you're traveling with her.   And I think the name of the demon might suggest more about Merrill's personality, how she is daring and willing to take risks.

Is this the way Merrill talks and acts in the game? Is she really this funny and having this funny coments in the game? Because it's like reading something from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and I really love it. This could make Merrill a favorite in DA2, easy.

If a Dev comes and say "Yes, this is how Merrill is in the game" I will scream in joy!!!

Probably because she associates with this demon. Also probably where she learns her blood magic. Cool little story though.

I've always found that elves having larger ears than humans, like this, horribly disrupts the otherwise elegant features of elves. I thought they were already too prominent in Origins, so you can imagine how I feel about these ones.

However, everything else that has changed about the elves is such an improvement, particularly the overall silhouette, that my forgiveness is given. <3

I got a very Joss Whedon-esque vibe off of Merrill's backstory, particularly in her silly little references. Once again, I really think her voice actress will be an Amy Acker or an Allyson Hannigan or even a Jewel Staite. Maybe not those actresses specifically, but the same kind of feel.

Na'vi were pretty much elves anyway. They just had a dash of furry as well.

OR... the Demon may have something to do with her personal quest. She leaves her clan to go with you and perhaps asks you to go along with her on her personal quest to meet with the Demon where you have the choice of freeing it or not. Since obviously the Keeper wouldn't condone such a thing, etc, etc.

Whenever I think of Merrill all I hear is Snake's gravely voice...even though it was spelled different and it's been what seems like a lifetime since I've actually heard it.

Very interesting story. She probably unleashes the demon trying to gain knowledge of the older elves. It probably teaches her blood magic, or some ancient elven magic. Eventually it might betray her and maybe causes some horrific change to the forest endangering her clan.
