Very interesting story. She probably unleashes the demon trying to gain knowledge of the older elves. It probably teaches her blood magic, or some ancient elven magic. Eventually it might betray her and maybe causes some horrific change to the forest endangering her clan.

Not sure where you see that. The body/limb proportions of "new" elves are pretty much the same like those of humans, the bodies are simply thinner. That means if anything the arms of the redesigned elves are actually shorter than they were (because the DAO elves have arms comparable with humans, meaning they're disproportionally large for their somewhat shorter bodies)casedawgz wrote...
One thing I like about the new elf design (and this isn't a knock against them) is how they're bodies are now more analogous to their darkspawn counterparts, Shrieks. The arms are longer, the legs are shorter...now it just seems more logical for Shrieks to have come from elves.

I'd say both the position and camera angle makes things there difficult to judge -- there's lots of perspective shortcuts going and whatnot. There's a full body picture of Merrill standing straight somewhere on the most recent pages of this thread (it's not included in the first post) and that one is probably better for this.casedawgz wrote...
