I dig how Merrill's mind works, if what I read translates to actual dialogue in-game then I think Merrill's character will be a hundred times better than I thought.
Demon of Audacity? I don't know about you guys but I think Audacity doesn't necessarily translate to demon, it may be a benevolent spirit just like Justice.... and I kinda think after what Merrill saw in the end, she'll go back to free this spirit in order to gain its knowledge about Arlathan, maybe even learn more old elven magic.
Yesterday I was patiently waiting DA2, now I can't wait.

I think she's quite cute but in a more 'isn't she an adorable little girl' way not a 'I want to have sex with her' way.
I dinno. She kind of reminds me of this young lady here.

Cute, but not adorable little girl.

Her attraction is pure magic! Above labels or classifications it is. Naysayers be damned!
I agree! Merrill is a fine young specimen of Dalish magic-goodness!

I like the new profile shot, especially the shape of her nose, it frames the rest of her face very well. (yeah, I'm a nose guy, if you couldn't tell ... one of those less common fetishes you hear about)
Some things should stay in the closet, that is one of them.

The nose can make or break a woman's face; in profile it is one of her most defining attributes. Noses give a face character and personality ... they are really one of the first things you see when you look at a face; our eyes rest upon it, our mouth hangs from it. We develop entire character stereotypes around noses; long, bent, stub, needle - the "Roman Nose" is a defining characteristic of an entire culture.
Mind you, I've seen some people take this whole "nose fetish" thing to gruesome, degrees ... me, I just find noses particularly attractive and it is good to see Merrill's nose works well with her face.

It's just that all keepers are already apostates, and they really don't care what the chantry thinks about that. What's to keep them from using blood magic responsibly? Jowan could do it.

We're not even sure if the Dalish look at Blood Magic badly. That's mostly just a stereotype that the Chantry seems to push on the Circle of Magi.

It would be reasonable to assume that they do since the state who brought them down was using heavily that kind of magic. And aren't the Keepers the masters of a form of magic which is a whole different category than your standard one?

You ever heard the phrase "fighting fire with fire"? If someone uses a superior weapon to beat me once it's not a stretch that I'd want to get my hands on that weapon so that I'm better prepared next time, also it might be just Merrill, but the fact that Zathrian was a blood mage as well may suggest that it's common practice amongst the dalish.

I've heard her called Golum with boobs. This seems to fit better than any other description I've seen. So much for the elves being a beautiful race and all.

Howewer, where you heard someone called her Gollum with boobs? I don't think it was here. Still, I don't agree with you, and I fail to see the comparison.

Jowan abused it eventually... I'm pretty certain the dalish have different views on magic as you said but I kinda think they also understand the dangers of Blood Magic, which begs the questions if they do possess Blood Magic, what do they use it for? Zathrian used it for a curse, Merrill uses it to do a ritual... they seem to understand it very well which might mean Elven Magic is Blood Magic, Velanna could summon wild sylvans which is basically spirits bound in trees, I like the Blood Magic angle with Merrill and it'd be really interesting seeing how that turns out.
What I don't understand is who said she even used Blood Magic? Where did this info come from?

When? The only two blood magic abilities we ever know of Jowan using is one defensive magic and another entirely optional power to try to save Conner, that even he seems reluctant to do.ViSeirA wrote...

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What you might find ugly, others might find it pretty or even beautiful. Anyway, im pretty sick of "plastic romances" where you just hit on the obvious hot chick. I find Merril to be "exotic" in a tasteful way and if her character and voice will please me, i tend to ignore her sexy-o-meter.
But Golum with boobs? I really dont see the resemblace.

Their magic is similar to what Morrigan uses. She makes the comment to a Dalish elf that her shape shifting skills were familiar to the Dalish and showed interest in their magical arts.
Dalish are probably capable of Blood Magic or perhaps they use a form of magic that is entirely archaic and the root of most specialized skills. I know not. What I do know, is that they are fully capable of self government and protecting the interests of their mages while also being able to throw them out of a tribe for sour decisions.

Right that's what I was basically trying to say before, and like you said he was reluctant to use it as well.
Even while in the Circle still he just used it to try and pass his harrowing and he used it to escape definite execution or being turned into a tranquile.
And further more if you release him from Redcliff he helps travelers on the roads.
