Yeah probably, also might have something to do with that "Audacity" spirit in her short story, also some people might have not noticed but she seems to disagree with Marethari when it come to whether the cave they were in was dangerous or no but she chose not to voice her opinion while in the middle of it... it appears she has different views on demons and spirits.

It didn’t do anything" gees, is she going to apologise to enemies when she attacks them too? How much Moe anime have the devs been watching? Does Keeper Marethari look like an adult?

What happened to the full grown woman from DAO?

What is bioware thinking giving a LI proportions of a child? (I'm talking about the size of her head in relation to her body). Making a character look like a child is one thing but then making her a LI? I can't... just... what?

How so?, she looks 20 something to me. And thats hardly a childs age, then again I'm married to a Chinese woman most of her family looks younger than they are. And her size is not child like at all, in my area I've seen plenty of women of that build minus a few things, heck even a woman who is a married adult and works at the counter at Wal-mart, is only about 4'7" and makes my rather small wife look normal sized. 

Meanwhile I found the women in DA:O looked more to be in there 30's. I find that to be middle aged, then again I'm not cosmopolition. And as to the lines how is sympathy childish? And as to your anime comment your ignorance betrays you. I've seen plenty of Anime where some of those women are down right blood thristy or typical. Sounds to me your just Trolling.

I have to agree with everyone saying that she looks like a child. She definitely doesn't look 18. But I guess it's all good in the DA universe though. No such thing as statutory in Free Marches. lol

You can't compare an elf's looks to human aging...they are magic...we are not! well ok humans can be magic too...but it's not the same

QFT, I've known girls who are 25+ years old and look more or less like Merrill... and tbh I like that kind of girls, Isabella types turn me off.

Amelie. All she does is go on innocent excursions. She's spunky, sweet, mischievious, and adorable.

And she's 25, not 14 years old. But then again, last I checked, there are no set definitions for what a 25 should look and act like. There are many, many, many types.

Yeah.....But this girl looks of age.   Merril does not. There is a difference.

Also, Your argument about LI's is completely off. Let's look at ME for a moment where Jack is not the most perfect girl you describe by any means. Then you have Tali who is just a alien in a Mopp suit. Miranda, Ashley and Liara are the prettiest ones by far, all with different personalities, body sizes and looks. So obiviously they don't all have to fit into some standard outline as you seem to think. Just Sayin!

People can talk about how she is an elf and she is actually a lot older because they live longer or that she is magical and all that, but it doesn't excuse the fact that she looks really young. Not saying that there is anything wrong with her as a character. I'm just saying that she doesn't quite make a lot of people feel completely at ease as being a LI. As for people saying you can't compare her to humans because she is an elf.......the bottom line is she still resembles a human. Minus the long ears she would resemble a human almost exactly. Ears = The only difference between Elves and Humans in most forms of media.

And look at how much CRAP Jack gets all the time. As well as Tali, who gets knocked around for being too viriginal and sweet. Miranda? I have heard SO MANY complaints about ass shots and being a total B*tch. Ashley? She's too religious and her lips are sooooooo weird. Liara? Her eye twitches and what is with her voice its too soft? She is so pathetic!

Obviously, you are not the expert when it comes to writing female LIs. But because your opinion is important and tearing down these characters based on their appearance and personality (Of which you have three screenshots and a single short story) means you know exactly what you are talking about and its important to tear them down because they don't meet your perfect female fantasy of what looks right.

Just sayin.

Sometimes I think one of the main reasons Tali has SUCH a huge fanbase is because she is covered head to toe with clothes, so people simply cannot judge her and are allowed to make her look like whatever they have in mind.



That's what needs to be done to create a PERFECT female LI. Body condoms for all!

Could you please dig up the post you made yesterday about how the LIs should be? Because that was effing brilliant, and I think whenever someone complains about a LI you should just repost that.

This can be a valid arguement.  I used to post alot at a 3D art site.  There were a lot of people posting nude fairies that looked like 12 year olds with wings.  Their excuse would be "But their fairies, their really a 1,000 years old".  Well that excuse didn't really fly with me.  Image what you can get away with in a fantasy game if that was your defense.

"Yes I totally raped what looks like a 10 year old girl, but it's really a 30 year old Half-Orc and they like it!".  No, I wouldn't buy that either.

On topic, I think Merrill look fine body wise as an elf.  I just have to get past her face or make her wear a full helmet.

But see the devs created a really good solution for this potential problem.  It's called not romancing her.

I'm not completely at ease with people who spend time and energy picking apart the way female characters look.  I find it kind of creepy and misogynistic.  Why do you have a problem with people who are not you liking her?  And why do you believe that your perceptions of how old she appears are some kind of objective standard?

Their excuse would be "But their fairies, their really a 1,000 years old".

But nobody is making that argument.  They're saying they think she doesn't look like a teenager
