Alright guys. So just so we all know, here is the megalist of all that is wrong with the LIs.

If you want to add anything, feel free to! I'm open to edit.

Here,
I'm going to compile it in an easy simple form so we can always
re-reference what is entirely wrong about these characters! Take note,
Developers. For we are fans, and we know better despite any lack of
training or professional experience in design & writing. We may not
get paid for our opinions but boy do we have a lot of them and you
HAVE to pay attention to make this game better!

Merrill : Looks
like a little girl, her nose is weird, too short, sounds childish,
inexperienced, virginal, god another elf, WTF booobz. Perhaps if you
made her taller, gave her the face of Helen Mirren, and completely did
away with her nose? Also - no mention of her sexual past what so ever,
but it doesn't hurt to make her sexually aggressive and seem to know
exactly what she is doing without giving any prior history lest it wound
my pride, which is important because I am awesome.

Isabela: Her
boobs are too big, she's too fat, she needs pants, rewrite her as a nun
because being a pirate nun would be awesome, less flirtation, less
****ty, less female. Give her no boobs, make sure she's thin as a stick
because she's a rogue. Take my word for it. Olive Oil was HAWT. There's a
reason why Popeye wanted to TAP THAT.

Fenris: Beiber
hair? White hair? Anime bishie? OMG, really? And he looks SO gay. And an
elf. And tattoos. Because I cannot stand comparing my appearance to a
fantasy character, therefore feel very inadequate when women online that
I don't know are busier fawning and appreciating a fantasy character as
opposed to MY favorite LI / ME who they SHOULD fawn over, I would
prefer you just get rid of him all together or replace him with an
unnattractive qunari.

Anders: Cannibalistic abomination
who wears a skirt and has a spirit inside him.... mmmm... okay. Because
ladies are still interested in him, I find him still threatening to my
favorite character and/or me and would recommend you make him look like a
sack of meat or at least a broodmother. That would be great.

Please.
Take these criticisms into account and be sure to make changes
accordingly. I know better because I am a fan, not because I know
anything about the future of the story or really much about these
characters at all.

Sometimes I think one of the main reasons Tali has SUCH a huge fanbase is because she is covered head to toe with clothes, so people simply cannot judge her and are allowed to make her look like whatever they have in mind.

 It really just comes down to how we percieve a character to look. To some I suppose she looks young, does she to me? No. But that doesn't mean I can't change the opion of someone who has made up their mind long ago. Does she seem childish to me? No. But once again to others she does.

It's all perception.

Now I think the topic should probably be dropped before it gets more off topic/flame bait.

Liara? Her eye twitches and what is with her voice its too soft? She is so pathetic!

Obviously, you are not the expert when it comes to writing female LIs. But because your opinion is important and tearing down these characters based on their appearance and personality (Of which you have three screenshots and a single short story) means you know exactly what you are talking about and its important to tear them down because they don't meet your perfect female fantasy of what looks right.

Just sayin.

Well I could say I'm sick of people like you always jumping to the extreme because someone says something " kinda not nice" about a character you like. Grow Up!  It seems to me you have some underlying problem with pretty characters as you just bashed all the pretty girls in your first paragraph. Seems to me to be a personal issue.

Also, I never said anything about being  an expert LI writer nor did insinuate it. Neither did I bash or tear down the character in question. I simply stated facts.  I also stated my opinion on some of those facts. None of which included "tearing down". So before you go and put words in my mouth and resort to childish mud slinging I suggest you go back and actually read my post thoroughly.  See this is why people like you(fanboys & fangirls) get no respect when it somes to your opinion. A person makes harmless statement and you blow it all out of proportion because you like the character. GTFOH!

"Merrill looks like a child" is not a fact. "Merrill is an elf", or "Merrill is 5 feet (or whatever) tall" are facts.

We can sit here and go back and forth between subjective and objective views and standards all day, but its not going to change either person's opinion.  Some may view her as young while others may not. I think she does look young in the majority of her shots. In some she looks a little older. Overall she looks young. The end. Does it bother me that much? No! Will it bother others ....Of course! It already has. Simple. If you don''t like that other people share a different opinion than yours......too bad. That's the world. Saying Merrill looks like a child and that a romance with her would be perverted is not a fact, its an insult. Heck, anyone saying something I stated in the previously mentioned post would not be facts. They are insulting, and to a lot of people who are short, have huge breasts, curves, dark skin, are sexually promiscuous for fun, aren't interested in sex, innocent, naive, even look child like.... comments like "She's too childish to like, guh bioware u sux" is extremely sexist and insulting.

Say what you will, but if its going to be insulting, smell sexist, or could be hurtful to others, I will say something.

Its one thing to write "Mmm. Merrill isn't my type" and another entirely to say "Merrill looks like a little girl, that's so WRONG". One is a fact, the other is an insult.

Well I would say you are right, if I actually said any of those things. I said that she looks young. Elves look like humans. People have a problem with her looking young. All facts. I never said any of the stuff you mention as fact. See it's easy to put words into people's mouth just for the sole point of trying to maintain or shoddy argument or seem superior in some way. Oh please, spare me! The worst part of that paragraph is me saying "Who the F*** are you?!"......really?! If anyone has their feelings hurt over that they should go get a hug. Speaking of subjective points of view: I like her. The other random guy doesn't. Neither of us really care about each other's oppinons. However we both post on the forums and voice our thoughts, simply because they are PUBLIC forums.

Now, what i'm trying to say is, this is not a debate to be won with arguments and logical thinking. Wait what? Yes thats right. It's pretty much like 10 people trying to figure out what that abstract painting means. I think Merrill is pretty, you think she's way to young-looking and feel insecure about romancing her, the other dude think she is plain ugly in a golum with ****** kinnda way.

We're all right. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

That being said, I really dont get why some people try to hammer their point of view into other people, when this whole argument and flame war is subjective by defintion. Voice your oppinion, do it in a polite way without insulting or LALALALA IMA CANT HEARZ U!!

Not evil villain camp, but you do come across as a jerk.

Regardless, I'm tired of this subject. It sucks too, because I've TRIED to hang around the Lady LI threads as much as I do the Male LI threads.

Whereas in Anders thread they discuss the implication of what he has become and who he will be, as well as Fenris' threads were people discuss possible background stories and Fenris role in the party, a majority of Isabela and Merrill's threads consists of posts about how ugly, unnattractive, unsexy, and unappealing they are.

Sure there are more interesting topics, but for the most part it is bogged down by insulting comments circling back to how ugly they are cuz OMG their appearance is SO IMPORTANT to their character!

Its downright annoying.

OK.....LMFAO! I'm just going to say it. You all should kill yourselves. I never said that Merrill looks childish or anything even remotely close. I said she looked  really young.  You guys are the masters at putting words into people's mouth. SMH! I refuse to go back and forth any longer as you just proved my point yet again that fanboys and fangirls DO NOT actually read anything. They skim and then take action.

Edit: Before anyone tries to go crazy. I actually did say that I agree with the people saying that she looked more like a child. However my next post I said I think she looks really young. Big difference!
