I've heard from many that Witch Hunt in general was pretty poor.

It was a HUGE let down, with a cliff hanger ending. And when you finally met Morrigan she gave you a friggin' cryptic teaser.

At least my one character got to go through the mirror with her.

I will also say though, for those who did not play it, Witch Hunt did tie in the mirror from the Dalish Origin in a big way. The talking statue from the Mage Origin came back too, but the mirror was the whole point of the DLC.

I enjoyed it.  Aside from its brevity and rather unsatisfactory ending, it was good fun.

I just found this and had to share, in case PC Dalish Origin/Merrill lovers didn't already know.

She doesn't look quite as young, but it's still pretty darn close.

PS - Vometia, your sig cracks me up!

People keep complaining, and I'm just stating, not judging, about how she looks so young, but what about the news ears and the accent?

I like the ears but am not familiar with the accent.

Thank you. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Didn't I read that the accent of her new voice is Welsh?  Though in saying that I feel I'm probably stating (or perhaps misstating) something that may have already been speculated about considering... er how many pages has this topic reached now?  Eek! :o

So, I'm hearing things about Merrill being a blood mage, and I figured you guys would be the ones to ask about it. Is this the case or just speculation? If so, how do we know?

Mostly just speculation right now. It's thought that she might use blood magic for some kind of ritual. Though nobody is sure.

There is also some speculation that her personal spec 'Dalish Pariah' is related to blood mage and maybe some nature magic type of spells...it's not totally know though as the noone has confirmed or denied that particular idea...

All we really know is that her special class is called Dalish Pariah. I dont think it has been confirmed if shes a blood mage.

I'm thinking that during the ritual she dabbles in blood magic somewhat foolishly confident only to discover what evil it can bring. Afterwards she might give it up completely.

You might have to convince her that it's bad or good, though.

Well I hope if you disagree with her use of blood magic that it won't get you rival points with her or something.

Right. She might see the destructive power of it but be unsure about whether or not to continue using it. Words from Hawke may convince her if she should keep using it or stop using blood magic entirely.

Slightly off topic:
I assume, all I know so far are the Rogue Specializations that DA2 is reusing from Origins, but I would hope that Blood Magic is back given how much of a role it played here and there in Origins.

Back on topic:
Hmmm.... Merrill as a blood mage? Well, that would certainly break the "Blood Mages are evil" view a bit. And the Dalish do view magic differently, The option to make her one, like you could with Morrigan or Wynne, I am in full support of. I'd rather her specialization be something not seen in Origins already. We need some new ones, I'd hate it if all the specializations were rehashes and carry overs from Origins

Well I feel like that might really be more of a "Hey Hawke I REALLY don't know what I should do with this right now..."

I would expect the other mage, you know who, (name edited for spoilers) to be a blood mage, given his new um... character.

It probadly will...we had that discussion in here over the whole blood mage thing before...though I suppose she could also be disagreeable with warriors who have learned the 'templar' spec alot like I would expect Bethany n Anders to not be so enamored with that situation either...

I suppose its possible if they put any kind of emphasis on it aside from a tactical one.

I mean in Origins if you trained in Templar nobody really noticed at all. It just meant you could fight mages better.

I was decidedly going to play a Female Hawke on my first playthrough, but with Merrill as a love interest I may have to reconsider. Especially since Isabela looks to be the female bisexual, which makes sense, it'd be stupid if they changed that.

Oh well, If I play a female first it'll let me get to know Merrill better for my male playthrough.

Edit: Merril WTF! Because I love her ears! :)

Edit: And eyes. I could stare for hours at her eyes! :)

Not Photoshoped. It was confirmed her chest looks overlarge just because of the angle.
