Looks unlikely, Isabela is prety definetly a f/f LI, so unless then plan to have both femal LI be bi that means no Merrill for Ladyhawk

I havn't seen anything about it. But I doubt it since it seems like their using a setup similar to origins.

Anyone else curious about the relationship between Flemeth, Morrigan and the Elves? Morrigan used the mirror in Witch Hunt, and we meet the Dalish, Merrill's clan, in 2 by delivering *edited for spoiler* to them.

Can't just be a coincidence, right?

IGN has a higher resolution version of that image. It gives a better shot of Merrill face from the front.

GIMP... which is pretty much the same thing, but free. Well, it lacks many cool features, but it's a good alternative for the "price". :police:

What do you think this means then?
"... DA2's romantic options are unconstrained. You meet a party member
chances are you can bone them (your sibling is on fortunate exception)
Male, female, amalgamation of human and spirutal manifestation of
justice, all are fair game.  ..." a quote from the "PC Player review" me and a few other people have taken this as meaning that all LIs are romanceable. What do you thnik?

It means that you can 'bone' several different companions. A male hawke can probably bone half his non-sibling team. That doesn't mean you can bone them all.

Thank you so much! Whit that image I see Merrill very well! I was thinking that she had an angry face in that screenshot, now she looks better.

With language that casual I'm not going to read to much in to it.  Mostly becasue my hopes for Varric as LI were largly inspired by that quote and I ended up disapointed.

Don't get me wrong I hope all love intrestes are bi, I just don't expect it.

Thanks to Zjarcal for the new banner... looks awesome, though it took me a minute to figure out how to get it to show as my signature.

Why does every screenshot I've seen so far, bar the romance one make Merrill look retarded. I need to see her for my self in game.

She does look a bit "young" imo. Other then that, i'd totally wrap her in my arms during those cold, lonely nights in camp

One thing I really appreciate about the elf redesign (and which we've seen a reflection of here, to an extent), is that it's given them a sense of the uncanny. They look inhuman enough to disquiet one. It makes the widespread prejudice against them make significantly more sense than it did when they could pass for human by putting on a hat.

If she's not a human hater, I hope to god she's super quirky. You know, like "Ooh, what's this?" Touchy touchy, I want to know about this human thing since I lived in the woods.
Example: "Ooh what's this?"
"Merrill, that's a door. You open it."
"Oh, I lived in a tent, we didn't have doors."

I'd rather her be like that then "Yikes, scary!" and then she goes and hides.

I also wonder how much of an effect the Dalish boon will have.

"OOOOOH. What does this bottun do?"

"Merril, nooooooo!"

Noooo.... Merrill can not nuke Thedas.

As for the whole Merrill looks young thing, I don't mind it. Maybe they needed her to look younger because it reflects how she acts or something, we have yet to see. Or yeah, they could totally have just made her younger for no reason. Although her looking so young will look really funny if you make your male Hawke look a lot older.

I also don't care, because it was previosuly mentioned, about her bust size. I just want her to be a good character and be useful in battle. I tend to take the characters I like best with me in battle over who I will need skillwise, so I really hope Merrill can heal cause then she'll be my mage, just like I always used Morrigan over Wynne.

Also, since we're talking about how she looks, I am happy that the elves have better ears now.

I'd say its a pretty specific quote, the meaning is pretty clear, and its quite consistent with the announcement the other day of the LIs, where they said fairly clearly that you could romance any of them.  They didn't come right out and say 'regardless of gender' but that was certainly the meaning of the words they used.  This quote says it even more explicitly, saying there are no limits on the LIs, they're 'unconstrained'.  Also, the quote pretty much stated that Anders was an LI for both.  Clearly Fenris and Isabella are the #1 'available to all ' LIs, so if Anders is too then you know Merrill is as well.  At the very least, this adds to the quotes that would pretty much have to be completely wrong in order for Merrill to 'not' be an LI for Lady Hawke.  We'll find out soon enough in any event :) .

Do keep in mind that the quote is from a review. And reviews are quite frequently wrong.

I mean, seriously, I have yet to read a review of a Bioware game that does not contain a factual mistake or three. It seems that very often the reviewer just makes assumptions or generalizations without caring about the consequences of what he/she writes. It gets even worse when the reviewer is complaining about something that is completely incorrect (for example, saying it's impossible to do something when it is in fact possible but the reviewer dind't bother to learn how).

My point is, take anything in a review or preview with a grain of salt. Half the time they don't know what they're writing (even positive reviews, in fact). It gets even more common when reading with long complex games like Bioware RPGs. :)

Yeah I would take the review with a grain of salt, Its like in the first DA game if you played a hetrosexual warden some people might have found Leliana's and Zevran's hitting on you...akward to say the least. But on the other hand I'ld wager if it was a pure hetrosexual coupeling then your "friendly" GLB community would be in an uproar. Switched it to all gay and the more traditionalist would be. Look at how baddly the various romance threads degenirate or get locked down. Its a hot button issue and catering to one will ****** off the other and vise versa.

Best way to make it work is simple split the four romance options OR, dissable the romances unless keywords or conversation comes up. So no akward hitting on by the same sex if your hetro, and if you want to have sex with everyone in your camp then you can. No catering to either side, no war of the Sexualities or "WHY IS SHE GAY SHE HOTNESS!!!!" or"WHY NOT I HAZ HOT MAN MAN SEX!!!!" I've seen the threads here a great deal of people need hormone treatments if you are that obsessed with sex, so I know the arguements would boil down to this.

Though given the delicate nature of this topic in general I see the first one happening as in DA:O but in reverse. I highly doubt Merril would be a bi option given that it doesn't seem the dailish support that sort of thing, then again this is pure conjecture. But given the new conversation system, maybe the above would happen and in my opinion would work for the best. Though in the end I don't see the point most with the PC version will mod the hell out of the game reguardless.

I think that if there is only one female bisexual option, that will be Isabela. She was bisexual in Origins. I don't see any reason why they have to change that. Not that I don't like Merrill as a bisexual option. I like both characters, so I'm fine with both.
