However, fanfic is mostly written by women while most players are male.

Gaider is an outstanding writer, but I think Hepler deserves more credit. She is tremendously talented when it comes to writing psychological, political, and social stories (from what we've seen in Origins, and Anders' snippit). She wrote like... 90% of the dwarves at Orzammar. The dwarven origin stories were among the strongest in the game. Anvil of the Void was among the most shocking and repulsive twists in the story.

No, my build is from the link I posted...I was doing a pre-play build for my character...and pretty much all of the party members...

Thank you very much for the link to that. The new additions are mostly just talents from the other skills shifted around but it looks slightly more customizable now. I would guess that you don't start with all those trees, like some open up after certain levels or points in the game, but it doesn't say if you need to learn a whole tree to open up another one...
Also, only Rogues get to dual wield and are archers now? I guess I'm ok with that. It bugged me that the warrior and rogue dual and archer builds were the exact same in Origins, so I guesss this solves that problem. Gives me a good reason to play a rogue now since I'm more of a warrior type. Looks like they completely made over the rogue class. I see nothing about needing rogues to open chests this time around... anyone know anything about that?
Also, have they confirmed all the returning specializations? The website only has warrior up. I remember something about the rogue ones being revealed.....

I would say Allistar was the favorite character among males too, atleast besides their romance.
His Interagal role in the plot and total Bromance was awesome. Also was the character with the most devolpment besides maybe sten.

Also, thanks for that link, thats a lot of fascintating information, it really gives you a lot to think about, as to which abilities you want your Hawke to have, and not only that but even your fellow teammates as well! As someone who plans to always have Merrill and Isabella in the party, and probably Bethany as well, it really lets you think ahead, how you want to develop all your characters well before the game comes out so you're ready to maximize your team's powers and abilities come Game Time on March 8th!

My favorite from DAO was definitely Leliana, Im pretty sure she was the favorite of the most players, second being Morrigan, that's what I see in all the polls, and the number of comments seem to match that. Of course Allistair had some fans as well, but their numbers pale in comparison to the mighty legion of Leliana fans. Thats to be expected of course, as Allistair's fans are mostly female, while Leliana is a favorite of male and female alike, for obvious reasons

rogues get assassin, duelist, and shadow for spec. For opening chest will be dependant upon the rogue's cunning stat...which means Isabella varric n sebastion should all have really high crit hit rates by the end of the game as well...
mages get spirit healer, blood mage, and force mage for spec.
Besides, that we don't know the skills that made though it did seem as if templar has holy smite back. I also know from watching the leaked demo footage that Aveline has the guardian spec for her personal one. Bethany didn't have hers yet, and I didn't get to see Varric's...
@ SirGladiator... yes, it does and it seems as if you n me will have the same main party members for our first times through the game... that's exactly the way I working through those skills when I trying to decide on builds for the characters.

Awww, I gotta carry around another rogue, and switch to them everytime I want to open a chest or disarm a trap again.... Maybe they'll be nice and put the Advanced Tactics Mod idea about setting up a tactic to let your rogue do so for you.
I was just watching the gameplay trailer, the one that shows you the action style and then the pause and play PC style, all I have to say is as someone who played both the 360 and PC version of Origins... yay! I liked that the PC version let me pause and set things up when I felt I needed to, when I went back to the console version I missed being able to do that,

Right -- an easy way for little details from Origins to be recalled in DA2 would be to have her as an occasional NPC encounter in inns, telling stories like the ones she told in Origins -- but now they're stories about your Warden.

You could pause and issue command on the console version the same as the pc.

It was FAR easier for me on the PC with the use of the mouse. I avoided it on the consoles.

Along with Merrill, I highly doubt Anders would be bisexual. He gave no indication of any homosexuality in Awakening, although with his new personality, who's to say.
What I want to know is, are they going to pull the Morrigan card again and make it so I have to chose a romance with her or hook her up with someone else or loose a companion for the end of the game again? I really hated that.
Give the writers a little credit, they're not going to do ANOTHER Dark Ritual.
And you're right, I highly doubt Anders and Merrill will be bisexual. With Merrill, you can sort of tell, (plus Isabela's the bisexual female romance option), and Anders had that shoot lightning at fools line in Awakening. And he doesn't have a completely new personality, he's just more mature and possessed.
Do I need to say it? Do I?
Do it. Just do it.![]()
