Merrill- shy, innocent and virginal.

Eve Myles- Best know (to me at lest) for staring in Torchwood a show whos catch phrase should have been "Everyone has sex with everything"



She will be good for the role. Not only a nice voice, but she apears to have quite a bit of range and felxability with it, I'll be intrested to here how she dose it.

....I am so going to think of Torchwood whenever Merrill speaks now. Going to be interesting. Oh well that is just one step away from Captain Jack, so I can live with it. And Merrill should have a pleasant voice to listen to at least.

*swoons* Best casting choice EVER. This pretty much guarantees Merrill will grow on me even if she turns out to be a bland character. Which she won't, because she's written by Mary Goddamn Kirby.

I'm unfamiliar with her to, but so far so good, and the follower we are going to see is Isabella, i believe.

Eve Myles is best known for her acting in the British Sci-Fi TV Series Torchwood (which is a spin-off off Dr Who). She gives the audience the outsider's perspective as she's new to the team, and she doesn't get to be badass until season 3, so I wasn't impressed in her character until then.



I *do* however enjoy listening to her Welsh accent. She can really rock the jokes and humour in that sing-song accent. I was never interested in having Merrill as a party member (always had Anders in mind for the party mage), but now that I know one of the characters from one of my favourite tv shows is going to be in one of my favourite video games, Merrill is now elevated to favourite as well.

all i see is Female Hawke  and text. we dont see "who" we are talking to here or who uset blood magic.

For me  it makes more sense that its Anders over there. i mean hes allready got a Spirit turned Demon inside of him.

Or can anyone clear this?

We've been over this...

Most people are convinced it's Merrill because the screenshot came with a batch of other combat screenshots that included Merrill, and they all seemed to take place in the same forest.
Not to mention a German preview said Merrill's special tree, Dalish Pariah, was aa mix of Keeper magic and blood magic.
And Merrill had a brief run-in with a demon in the short story you may find in the Romances thread, and she seemed quite enthralled by it.

Really, the evidence is so solid that I'm not even going to doubt Merrill is an amateur blood mage. I will eat crow if the game proves me wrong.

While I've always thought that the fear of the unknown is the basic human fear, I daresay the reason people stigmatize blood magic so much is its consistently negative portrayal in DAO.

We know exactly what blood magic is. Its magic that uses the power of ones blood and can be used as mind control, curses, demon summoning, and can even be used to boil another's blood. It is not a very nice form of magic.
