I'm staying the hell away from these boards from March onwards. The risk of some douchebag playing the game early and posting spoilers is far too great.

Oh I know. I've been here during every launch since ME1 was released back in 2007 when we were still on the legacy forums. I've seen all the spoilers; I'm very resilient. I was here when ME2 was leaked and some guy spammed new topics in all caps telling us that the collectors are protheans and that we'd fight a T-800. (Nobody believed him, btw).

What I meant to say was: the forums will be devoid of all interesting people and interesting discussions.

Sounds like I missed quite a riot around here the last 3 game releases(ME 1, DA:O , n ME 2). Fortunately spoilers don't bug me so much, so til 3/8 I'll be around and hopefully the majority of the threads keep going at their current paces. I expect the character threads to be the dominate one however...

I remember refreshing the forum's main page and all topics on it were the same; they all said "THE COLLECTORS ARE THE PROTHEANS!!!1" or something like that. Fun times.

Well, we don't really know a lot about her personality or her quest line, so maybe she'll surprise you. Her voice actor is definitely a plus, though.

True. But when that guy was spamming it on these boards, it sounded extra crazy and ridiculous. It was kind of weird when it turned out to be true

Spoilers, spoilers... I do not remember any game I played without running into some massive spoiler on this or that forum. It always happens to me. Guess I should just get used to it =)
I'll have my game only at 11th or 12th anyway. I don't have enough willpower to stay offline for this long, so I shall be hanging around and reading...spoilers. About Merrill as well. I'm not even sure I'm going to play as male Hawke, so I'll read about her romance sooner or later. What I don't wish to read is something about her quest.

I actually laughed at that one...the thing that caught me off guard with ME 2 was a. Legion's recruitment... b. the REAL hidden companion's Morinith's recruitment...and c. the shear enjoyment of NOT having to deal with the MAKO again...LOL.

There's still the fact that some people could get the game almost 3 to 5 days earlier than release like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the 11th so my advice would be staying away from this forum the weekend before DA2 releases and avoiding youtube since that is where the spoilers will be.

Be especially weary of the 'let's play' players...because of a ton of them will be doing 'let's play' walkthroughs of DA 2 as well...from about the 8th on...that's actually how I found out about origins...because I media blacked out on all game for a good 3 or 4 months before that released...although that was mostly because FF 13 was dragging ass coming out...

P.S. if you do watch a 'let's play' Toegoff is really good, and I also HCBailey's runs...there are a few others who let's play that I watch but I dunno if they will do DA 2...

Like I said, that is what happened with ME2. The forums were a mess, but I don't think it was a big deal. That said, like Raziel I'm not that sensitive to spoilers anyway.

Yeah on the 8th I'll be getting the game, then I'll probably disappear so I can play it a while.

I've already been trying to be careful, though I've been spoiled ever so slightly already. Not on anything to do with Merrill thankfully though. And nothing that'll ruin the game for me either.

Toegoff is great and DSP is funny, but I'll refrain from watching those until I'm done with the game.

Toegoff is great and DSP is funny, but I'll refrain from watching those until I'm done with the game.

I'll probadly check them both out...and depending on who I like to listen to better..that's the one I will focus on...btu that won't be til after the first week I've had the game...I probadly should have beaten it and gotten most of th trophies(since I'm on PS3) by then...
