There's still the fact that some people could get the game almost 3 to 5 days earlier than release like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the 11th so my advice would be staying away from this forum the weekend before DA2 releases and avoiding youtube since that is where the spoilers will be.

Be especially weary of the 'let's play' players...because of a ton of them will be doing 'let's play' walkthroughs of DA 2 as well...from about the 8th on...that's actually how I found out about origins...because I media blacked out on all game for a good 3 or 4 months before that released...although that was mostly because FF 13 was dragging ass coming out...

P.S. if you do watch a 'let's play' Toegoff is really good, and I also HCBailey's runs...there are a few others who let's play that I watch but I dunno if they will do DA 2...

 

Darksydephil is doing a let's play of DA2 and he's much better than that failure Toegoff. Too bad I won't be able to watch it until I finish my first playthrough:( At most I'll just watch the beginning since I already know it

 I love Toegoff.

 

I hate Toegoff and find DSP hilarious. DSP is more likeable but I won't derail this thread. Let's talk about smexy Merrill:wub: What do you think her gift(s) could be?

Never watched DSP, so I wouldnt know. But yes, lets go with Merrill, just there hasnt been any news on her for a while to discuss.

No idea what her gifts would be, but I do like the idea of fewer gifts that David Gaider mentioned a while back.

They're not all just instant I love you points, rather they'll start an actual cutscene like some of the better gifts did in Origins.

Yeah, I like that too. I never use any of the gifts in Origins anymore except the plot ones like Alistair's amulet or Zevran's leather boots and such.

I liked them, if you played your cards and gifts right, you could get Morrigan into bed before you even reached Lothering.

There's no camp before Lothering, so getting Morrigan into bed is impossible. I think they meant right AFTER Lothering. And yeah, it's real easy to get into Morrigan's tent the 1st time you get to camp.

You can go to the camp right after you meet Flemeth and leave with Morrigan actually. But I think its impossible to bed her, since you wont have any gifts yet.

You do have a gift or two then, not the 'special gifts' that trigger cutscenes, but theres at least one or two you can give her, before Lothering. It might actually be possible to get that far before even getting to Lothering. I know you can get the approval high enough to start Morrigan's romance at the very least, before Lothering.

Like we've discussed before, I feel one of the reasons Bioware has been so tight lipped about Merrill and also Anders is because there's such a large amount of plot surrounding their recruitment and general character.

Here's hoping we get SOMETHING though.

Am I the only one who thinks she doesn't look young? Judging only by the screens of course. She doesn't look like an elder, but she doesn't look like my boy Chris Hansen needs to come blue lighting it in like Captain America. Short doesn't equal young to me, maybe because i'm tall and to think that would make my life substantially more difficult than it needs to be.

Hm, I realize that nobody is ever the "only one" who thinks anything or bears any one opinion. I'm more here looking for someone else who I can be smug with.

I'm not trying to be Mr. Joke Killer here, i'm just wondering.

Naw, most of us here do not think she looks that young. I mean I keep saying she looks about early to mid 20's. That's what I get at first glace at least.

Merrill shall be my new Tali, in that just upon seeing Tali in screenshots of ME2 I wanted to romance her. Then when I played it I was damn right she was the perfect one to romance with my Canon Maleshepard. So I'm assuming Merrill is the perfect LI for my canon Male-Hawke.

And for anyone thinking she ain't a badgirl, you don't get kicked out of the Dalish for baking cookies with too much baking powder, ya dig?

I've said it before, while I think Merrill's going to be cute and all, Mary Kirby wrote her. Who wrote Sten. So I doubt she's just going to be a Tali clone.

Not that Tali's actually that bad anyway, but even I don't want another character like that. I prefer differences.
