Just out of interest has any gameplay of Merrill been shown yet, and if someone knows where it is could they point me in the right direction

There was stream video with Merrill, but it's not there anymore. There are rumors about another live stream, but I don't know where and I don't care.

I must admit i am a little stuck on how i'm going to get my party working when it's supposed to include Merrill. In origins i mostly used mages for healing and i still want that.

I would like to play a rouge myself but that would require me to have two mages at a time Merrill and either Beth or Anders to heal, another rouge in the party wouldn't benificial i think, but should i just go with Fenris then?

She plays like most mages, but the major difference is when she pulls out the knife for blood magic, I actually heard people screaming, "NO!!! Merrill don't do it!"

Ideally, I'd prefer to bring a Shield and Tank, a Rogue, and 2 mages (one for healing and one for damage). However, I plan on playing a mage, and I might be trying the bloodmage tree. And Bloodmage/healer didn't mix well in DA:O. And Merrill's better as a damager mage. So I might be forced to play it with Anders, Merrill, Hawke Mage, and a rogue (to pick locks).

That could be interesting. I plan for my mage combination Force mage and Spirit healer, and party with Merrill, Aveline and Isabela.

Holding a candle that we'll see some sweet Merrill cameo/involvement today at the live demo. Or is it too much?! Why is Merrill the ONLY one they haven't shown off to us yet? (And maybe Anders, but I'm not as eager 'bout him..) IT'S UNFAIR!

I saw a clip of Merrill and her voice is excellent, very sweet.  However, after reading the prequels DA The Stolen Throne and DA The Calling, I was hoping to see a DA 2  elf romance option that looked like Katriel in the above mentioned novels.  Katriel, a very skilled bard, had blond hair and very green eyes and was described in  the book as absolutely beautiful.

I'm blonde myself, and I prefer dark haired women and green eyes. Merrill's just right for me.

 

Me 2. Hope we get OFFICIAL gameplay of her and not just stream footage
